  1. May see you in Custer. We are leaving Dickinson N. Dakota Monday for someplace around Mt. Rushmore just have not picked a place yet. We will keep a look out for you.
  2. Ok I am at Dickinson N. Dakota North Park Campground. While roads and sites can accommodate HDT's they don't want us in the Campground. I had to drop off 5er at site and park HDT outside on a side street. Wifi is weak and internet speed so slow to be almost useless as well. Because it is the 4th weekend and was lucky to get this pace I accepted instead of moving on down the road!!! I don't know why the owner or manger don't like HDT's I did not get to talk to him; the clerk at the desk called him on phone to get permission to let me do what I am doing. While he has every right to make the rules I think any Good Sam Park should withdraw that designation if he cannot not accommodate HDT tow vehicles when the Campground is large enough to accommodate. Happy 4th everybody be safe out there. !!!!!
  3. I left Cody Wyoming this morning and got her to Miles City Montana Big Sky Camp & RV Park. While this is certainly not a KOA it has 80 foot sites with 30 amp electrical, water and cable at each site but not sewer. The sites are gravel, grass with picnic tables. Even so you cannot beat $20 a night and not taxes so 3 nights was $60. Jim and Amy Asher the owners seem really nice. It did fill up fast with only 22 sites so suggest reservations unless you get here early. on edit: Forgot to say cable and Wifi included in the $20 fee.
  4. I am here at Parkview RV campground in Cody Wyoming and at $25 per night hard to beat. I am in site 11 I think is 80 feet long and longest they have. WIFI is poor and I could not get satellite reception and it looks like those that do(full time residents) have the dish substantially raised. I think it is because of a hill directly behind the park. I will leave Monday the 30th for Montana and have no idea where yet will decide that Sunday don't want to get to far ahead of ,myself.
  5. Now sitting in Riverton Wyoming at Wind River RV Park and don't just use the GPS as mine took me to the rear of the park and had to wind through a residential neighborhood to get to the front of the park and office. They have a lot of 70 foot long gravel RV spots even 100 amp services if you need electrical that large. Joe Pepper is owner/manager and a great person truly understanding us RVers. The trip from Vernal Utah on 191 through Flaming Gorge was not a problem though some places the roads a little rough. This trip is really giving the ET hitch a workout and it is doing fantastic. I am thinking next Thursday make a short trip and head up to Cody to do Yellowstone have not decided where to stay yet.
  6. We will be leaving tomorrow from Vernal Utah via 119 awhile via Flaming Gorge to ultimately go Riverton Wyoming and staying at Wind River RV Park.
  7. Ok I am now in Vernal at Fossil Valley RV Park and they have 2 sites large enough for my 67 feet with a little maneuvering but not bad. Lots of trees cannot get my satellite to work so using there cable cannot miss my NASCAR races this weekend. I should be here until Monday June 23rd and have yet decided where in Wyoming I am going on the next leg or what route. The 191 from Helper Utah to Vernal was interesting with the pass topping out at over 9,000 ft. The road was rough and at times challenging but I enjoyed it but not for everyone I am sure. The other route would be just inside the West Colorado border perhaps easier for some though I have not taken that route.
  8. I am currently at Bluff, Utah and I got here last Monday. Weill be leaving tomorrow going to Vernal Utah via US191 but that is kinda a long mileage stent for me. Price Utah is kinda a short run so maybe if I see something between Price and Vernal will stop if I am tired. I will let you know where that when I get there.
  9. I think Card Lock is like Pacific Pride and only accepts their card which is direct billed. I have Pacific Pride so I know how it works just thinking Card Lock is the same though I have not checked into it before.
  10. I forgot to say I am back in my S & B 25 miles East of Show Low Az. brought back with me a new 2014 Keystone Fuzion toy hauler . Will be back to Phoenix Az mid-January for DW doctor appointment and looking for a Smart car to put in the new toy hauler.
  11. Left our S & B East of Show Low Arizona and here now in Destiny RV resort(it really is not, but nice) via Payson Arizona but kind of small for our rigs. I don't recommend it for HDT's typically for this reason in Goodyear Arizona but we have been staying here alot over the years from when I had my 1 ton Dodge diesel dually. Well be moving on next Monday to PIR for the week NASCAR Races and then back to Destiny after a week at the track and here tell November 30. Then back to Show Low, I know it is cold but not very bad really
  12. Got to the S & B yesterday afternoon and now all hunkered in ready for the snow do tonight after midnight. They are talking up to 12" but here probably only get 4" to 6" and the storm supposed to be out of here by Sunday afternoon. I know should be heading South to like San Diego; Wait they are under water!!! No real problems on the trip though my TST tire pressure monitor has gone weird and it is less than a year old. Happened earlier when in Goodyear then started working again just stops recording all pressure readings. On the way hoemn was working fine then after about 2 hours driving again stopped recording pressures. It scans from tire to tire; it is like all the sensor codes are wrong and I know they are not. After holidays give them a call about returning the monitor as it has to be what is going weird. So weird to be working fine the all of a sudden nothing from any of the 14 sensors. Was a good trip and even the DW is getting better though leaving during rush hour traffic she is not happy about. She just closes her eyes and imagines there is no cars and crazy people trying to drive under my truck.
  13. I will pulling out o Destiny RV Resort Goodyear Arizona at O-dark 30 tomorrow and going back to the S & B 30 miles East of Show Low Arizona. Should beat the snow by a day and a half.
  14. Just got into Destiny RV Goodyear Arizona from Phoenix International Raceway and will be here 4 weeks. Did not upset me to much to see Jeff Gordon under a pile of Clint Bowyer Crew members!!!
  15. Hooked up 20 miles East of Show Low Arizona at our S & B and will be leaving tomorrow morning via Payson Arizona to Phoenix International Raceway Avondale Arizona(400 miles) where we will stay for the week with the other crazy but fun race fans boon-docking in the desert. Cannot beat the price $60 for the week. We will stop on the way to fill the fresh water tank at my Sister-in-law's in Northern Glendale so we will be going across Shea Blvd. through Scottsdale as we only travel with 1/3 full for potty stops. After the race next Sunday on Monday will go a short distance to Destiny RV Resort in Goodyear for 4 weeks. Doing Thanksgiving, visit with both boys and business stuff and knowing DW Xmas shopping, etc. So as usual will not be typically posting for the week at the track just to much going on. As those know who have been to these kinds of things what I mean!!!
  16. Final Edit : Got back to the sticks & bricks last Friday 3/9 from Tucson. We took Arizona 77 from Tucson to Globe then picked up US 60 that takes you through the Salt River Canyon. Now if you don't want to miss the drive between Superior and Globe you can cut across using Arizona 177. Now I have taken all these routes before but not using my HDT. You might want to know along Arizona 77 going Easterly there is a 12 mile long 7% grade and a short maybe a mile or 2 of 8% grade. No real sharp turns so no real problem with the right gear and engine brake. Now the Salt River Canyon has 6% grade up and down with a few 25 MPH curves still not a problem for those prudent and sensible drivers. Having used this route through the Canyon 100's of times I have seen my share of accidents that can be dramatic and deadly. Most of the HDT truck accidents are happening by but not all from East Coast drivers with no exhaust brakes. Usually they are going Easterly (they just added a run off ramp within the last couple of years) and before the Canyon there is a grade to Senica lake and they heat up their brakes on that grade and don't stop at the brake check just after and just before the canyon and cool their brakes. Anyway though if you take US 60 from Phoenix to Show Low or Arizona 77 from Tucson or reverse. It is a beautiful trip and well worth it. I don't mean to make it sound scary as it is not just need to be prudent and when I stopped at the brake/safety check before the Canyon brakes was just barely warm. Then again I am not at 80,000 lbs. Sadly this little trip is over!!! Well we made it down to Tucson(staying at Justin's Diamond J CG) yesterday after a week at PIR and lot less problems than Daytona!!!. Did the Arizona Desert-Senora Museum today one of our favorites and was better than ever. Will do the Kartchner Caverns tomorrow cannot believe we have not done that on yet. Come to think of it have not done Old Tucson either may do that Thursday. Then off back to Show Low for my delivery of material I think I will sort of take the back way through Hayden copper mine area then the Salt River Canyon. This trip so far has been a lot less eventful than my first one in the HDT which was not bad at all but these one less. Still smiling!!!! quote name='Bob Cochran' timestamp='1329361991' post='522815'] Will be leaving on 2/27 to go done to Phoenix International Speedway(NASCAR is finally back) camping in desert for the week.
