  1. Pulled into New Caney TX today and will be here until after New Year at least. Good trip meeting nice folks along the way.
  2. Trailer repairs completed today with all damaged pieces replaced. Met Heromaker this evening as he & wife are parked right next door to me in Higginsville, MO. Day off tomorrow then heading south to TX.
  3. The Hutch Rally is a possibility in 2013, I need to wait until May or so just to be sure my schedule at (work the 4 letter word) does not change. We are in Lincoln NE heading to Higginsville MO (9 mi from Concordia) tomorrow and rolling into the shop on Monday morning.
  4. You too on the safe travels Sharon. They are ready for us with parts in stock (both the ones they make & those they out-source) so it should be quick & easy.
  5. Heading east on Wednesday toward Concordia MO (repairs to the Spacecraft from last spring erratic driving backing into it), then south to New Caney TX for the winter.
  6. I have no chains and am sitting still until at least Tuesday (let all the weekenders get done) and really don't have to be anywhere until June 5 or 6 so we just sit & enjoy the pretty stuff. Even the water is still flowing as temp is still 33.
  7. Take your time getting up to Yellowstone Rick, we are just a little north of Gardiner in Big Timber MT and shot this pic out my back window this morning.
  8. Came with the truck, mileage not too bad without DPF etc getting around 7.5 at 65 mph at a total of 47,250 lbs and 13 ft 4 in tall. I like the overall package and it runs about 1550 RPM at 65 too which is still in the powerband not above it.

  9. Had a nice visit from 1Rod on our way through Amana Iowa. Thanks for stopping by and for the squeaky cheese! Never had it before and now I know why they call it squeaky! Took me one good size curd to find out the reason for the name, if ya'll haven't tried it do so!
  10. Made it Champaign IL today (& actually had lunch with Mom, Dad, Sis, Nephew, & one of the 2 nieces), furthest point east on this summer's trip. Tuesday we will head north & west to Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, & Montana for the rest of the story.
  11. Just a few words of advice, Garmin 465T truckers GPS with lane assist!
  12. Yep I was, but not to worry it's out of the north now and heading for west central Missouri tomorrow. Where you going in SD? I will likely take the I-90 corridor through there in 10 to 14 days heading to Montana, got a cousin around Chamberlain that I need to visit.
  13. If that is the same south wind I had behind me today I pity you driving across it. From my side the FL is laying down some record breaking mileage having that same wind from TX to NE Oklahoma.
  14. The Giant is on the road! OK tomorrow. MO on Monday, IL by next weekend. After that is a blur of inactivity on a 3 week trip to Great Falls MT.
  15. Welcome to the neighborhood Don, we're just up the road but you likely know that as our truck is there too.
  16. The park is fine & very big rig capable. We're in a 90 foot pull-through so plenty room for truck, trailer, & Smart. 24 channel cable, free wi-fi that works, & steady 50 amp power! Rather empty as it is off season, but I like it that way. Road gets a bit of traffic during the day but quiets down at night, much better than near the interstate in Weatherford where we stayed the last time up this way. Owners are real friendly and interested in the trucks that keep coming to see a man in Poolville. Big dog run & plenty to do for everybody. It is a trip (about 20 mins) to get groceries in Jacksboro so come stocked up and you should have a great time. Best wishes on your uncles health. I did submit this campground to the HHRV HDT campground finder.
  17. Heading up to the Poolville area this weekend, gonna spend a week getting a bit of finish paint on the back of the cab and retro-fit of new Smart car retention (tie-down) system at 2L Custom Trucks. If anyone else stopping by to see Wayland give us a yell. Hopefully I'll be able to buy or steal some of Wayland's new Swag!
  18. Won't make ECR as although full time I still work and that falls during a work cycle for me.
  19. Ahhh, my truck's sister truck finally goes full-time! I saw it several times while Wayland was doing our's, congrats on the lifestyle change and hope it works out for you!
  20. Nice! Well sorry we will miss you as it looks now as if pulling in 1 Dec, enjoy the trip south!
  21. Where in Fredericksburg? Headed that way but will likely just miss you as it looks like 30 Nov when we arrive.
