HortonsTravels
Have seen posted here that renewals can be handled at any office in the state but haven't been able to find the same answer for initial set up. We would plan to use the Livingston mailing service address as our permanent address, does that mean we have to handle all the set up while in Polk county or can we take care of everything somewhere in west Texas? Thanks!
HortonsTravels
While I'm at it, I have the same question when it comes to Florida.

soos
For the drivers License you will have to be in the state of Texas but it doesn't matter where. My DH got his in El Paso. Get your address first. Next you will have to register your vehicles before you can get your license. You do not need to be in TX for that part. Call Polk county and they will walk you through the process- tell u what forms you need, and how much money to send. they are used to fulltimers at that office. once you register them THEN you get your license.
