  1. Hello everyone

    Glad to hear everyone had a good time this year with the get togethers. Sorry we had to miss them this year.

    Hopefully next year. Just wanted everyone to know that we will be in Bowling Green Kentucky for the summer, working at Beech Bend Amusement park. If anyone is coming this way give us a holler. Lots to see in Kentucky!

    Glad you have an agenda and shared it with us! Hope you have a great summer and make a little money to boot! We probably won't see you though, we are planning on the Northwest this summer. Take care and hope we'll connect next winter!We will for sure be back here in Yuma.

  2. Not too much going on around here. Carol has been playing tennis 4 days a week, and since we are leaving Monday, tomorrow is her last day. She is cooking a chocolate cake for tomorrow morning for the group, but now she has to sleep with "one eye open", so I won't get into the cake first. Not much wind today and it got really still at sunset, except for the 4,000,000 mph solar particals blowing by, but I didn't see any of them!! :rolleyes: Had to replace one of our lawn chairs as the sun has taken it's toll on them. They had some on sale at Sam's, so now we are "sitting pretty" again. Now I have to fire the bus up tomorrow and get all the tire pressures back to the correct ones before we pull out, plus get the oil and filter changed on the truck. Sounds like an agenda to me. Steve

    We really have enjoyed having you guys here and spending time with you! Sure hope you will come back again next winter! I think we're going to be going in opposite directions for the summer months... but hope we'll keep in touch! Safe travels. We are planning on going over to Casa at the end of the month. Enjoy your miles and try to stay out of trouble!

  3. The winds here were not to bad today only about 22 mph but they promise 40+ mph winds tomorrow. Then breezy the rest of the week and part of next week. That's the one thing I don't like about the southwest. But, I can think of a lot of other things I don't like about a lot of other places. I was sitting inside trying to carve today. I was working on a piece that has a lot of very fine detail. Every time a gust of wind would rock the trailer I'd slip and cut in the wrong place. After about 10 slips like that I just junked the whole project.

    I took my truck into Ford for service this morning and ask them to clean the engine because of all the sand and dust from these wind storms. When I picked it up the truck had been washed so I didn't bother about looking at the engine. When I got home I popped the hood and there was more dust in that engine compartment than in my vacuum sweeper bag. Guess where I'll be going in the morning.

    Don't think I blame ya! Make em get it right! It's been pretty windy, increasing all day, til about 8 we had 32 mph.... Now it's calming down a little. Hope it'll be gone in the morning. We went out for supper and the dust and sand looked like a blizzard in the headlights! I just keep reminding myself I'm sitting in short sleeves and shorts and we don't have to scoop it!!!! For a while tonight I thought I was on a boat!lol

  4. I got all kinds of busy today. I ordered wire to move my solar panels to the other side of the trailer. I finished wiring in the switches and terminal box to the solar controler to be ready to move the panels. I went to town to talk to Jimmy about fixing my trailer brakes. I re-arranged the junk in the back of the truck. I cleaned a few thing in the trailer and even went for a walk. Now my hip is complaining but it's time to hit the hay so I hope it is well rested in the morning because I have to take the truck in to Ford for service. They forcast wind for tomorrow, Yuk.

    And the wind here just started so I imagine this afternoon won't be a good day to sit outside! Have been waiting for these "high winds" for 2 days now, and wish they would hurry up and get on with it! We're suppposed to have a big BBQ tomorrow here in the park, and if it's yukky they will push it to Thursday! Or Friday! Not a good time to plan an outdoor activity. DH is on the Golf course today and I made him a Germ. Choc cake for his birthday! Wish you guys were here! Have a great day IYQ and don't work too hard!

  5. Happy Anniversary Terry and Jerri !!! WE made it to Casa Grande with no wind. Gave Toni a hug and said hi to Doug [He has a Cold] Went to town and had supper with Kenny and Connie at Dennies, had a good time visiting. Hope everyone is having FUN!

    LIFE IS GOOD!!!

    Freddy and Delcie

    Glad you made it o.k. Happy Anniversary Terry and Jeri! Will miss all of you guys now..... but hope to see Toni and Doug at the end of the month. You got out of here just in time Freddy and Delcie....we're up for high winds again tomorrow! :{

  6. Our plan was to move to Casa Grande this morning, plans changed when the wind hit and is blowing about 35 to 40mph. We hope to get away tommorow. Delcie gets to go to the $.99 store one more time.:lol: Everyone be safe.

    LIFE IS GOOD!!!

    Freddy and Delcie

    i'm glad you guys didn't try to go! We didn't hardly peek our heads out today until about 4:00 when we went to Parrish's for Fish with Steve and Carol. The wind is starting to die down now, and hope it's done by morning! You guys travel safe and enjoy Casa Grande. :}

  7. Well I'm all hooked up and ready to roll. Tomorrow morning I'll start scratching this hitch itch. Just about everyone at the Slab LOWs came past today to say bye bye. It makes one think they are glad to get rid of me. I'll try to get going before the wind picks up tomorrow. They are forecasting winds to 28 with gust to 44. Maybe I can get to Casa Grande without starting the engine. I won't be staying there long. I'll do a little trailer cleaning then march on toward Deming, NM, and start working on my taxes.

    Safe travels! Hope you don't get East far enough to catch up to the wind and Storms!

  8. When we moved in next to Freddie and Delcie we were only going to stay a couple days but ended up staying almost another 2 weeks! It's hard to leave good people!!

    They cooked us a super meal last night! Usually when people are tired of you the food and comaraderie stop. That's the best indicator it's time to move on. However, it just got better and better next to them. Check out the food they fixed for us last night! It was the best steak EVER!! :D

    Wow! That looks Fantastic! I'm hungry for steak again! The steaks we had at your place were really good too! It's better to hit the trail contented ! Safe travels :)

  9. Happy Birthday to Paul!!!

    We're pulling out tomorrow. I think we're heading to Needles. We debated on whether or not to go to Palm Springs. Obviously, we really won't know where we're going until in the morning. Have a margarita for me! :D

    Happy Birthday to Paul from us too.... I heard today is National Margarita day so that would be in order! Safe Travels Terry and Jeri..... loved spending time with you guys this year. Hope we'll see ya again on the road someplace! Will keep in touch this summer! Keep havin' fun!

  10. We put the floats on the bottom of the motorhome overnight. We figured if it continued to rain that we'd just float out of here. Well, we didn't get that much rain but we did get enough to create a lot of puddles around here. With all that liquid sunshine on the desert, I'm wondering if the spring flowers will start popping up all over now :D .

    We had a great spaghetti feed at Steve and Carol's last night along with cranberry juice. We figured IYQ would follow the scent and find us. He didn't. Thus, we all ate his share too. :D

    Yes! It was a grand gathering at Steve and Carols! Sauce was excellent! Thanks again guys. Yep, and since IYQ didn't show up, his ears should be ringing as we talked about him an extra lot too!

    Rain? What's that? dreary clouds.... have about 15 skinny drops on the windshield every hour that evaporate....just as I though, just enough to mess things up around here! The sun is trying to break through. :[ would really like to see a puddle!

  11. Hmmm seems there has been a shake-up here. Yesterday, late in the afternoon, the manager (whose own lot we were on) told us that we would have to move to another lot as they, the managers, were moving from the designated Manager's lot, to their own. We didn't know why but didn't argue. (the new lot is quite nice). Doug sees that there are notices in all the leaseholder's mail boxes so we guess the managers have quit.

    So we are now in Lot 10 if anyone is coming this way.

    Hmmmmm

    Some days it's just better not to ask questions! Thanks for the update....when are you planning on leaving there?

  12. Earthquake? What earthquake? We thought it was just the wind.

    Oh, Trust me, it wasn't just the wind! It was 3:10 not 3:30! Woke me right up! Several of our neighbors felt it too! I think it's really eerie! A definite weird feeling, lots different than wind! It feels like someone is standing out at the back of the coach and rythmically pushing on it! I didn't have the sinking feeling like we did in El Centro a couple years ago after the big one in Mexicali.... but it happened! They had the time messed up on the weather channel, but on KSWT tv here in Yuma, they announced it yesterday...as 3:10. The epi-center was southwest of here..about 60 miles by Guadalupe Mexico. I am however, getting very tired of "The WIND!" I think we're finally having a spell of real Winter....for here anyway! Spending a quiet morning here. Haven't been feeling the greatest. Looking forward to our time at Steve and Carols, and hope hope hope this wind goes down!

  13. Sandie,

    So glad you get to bring Jim home. I'm sure if you remind him of all that past pain and suffering, the two months without fishing will be a very small trade off! I still have a guy in pain and he can't do much this way either!

    Well, the wind has been blowing. It has been cool, but I know IYQ is getting ready to go! The land Gods are telling him to get to going! We were startled awake this morning at 3:10 am...... with a 5.0 Earthquake! Coach shaking and the blinds rattled. KayCee sat right straight up and barked! So that must be the sign that he's leaving the slabs! Have a safe trip and we'll see ya somewhere down the road! Lots of folks here on our street are getting hitch itch. They are scratching it, we are not. :{ Next door neighbor leaving for a week in Palm Springs. Two houses down, that couple heading to Vegas for a week! We will be taking some trips after the first of March. One East and One west.... but for now..... making desserts for tomorrow nights get together at Steve and Carols! Fixing a nice dinner today and attending Three Faces of Elvis tonight here at our park. Watching the trees bending in the wind. Happy Valentine's Day Friends! :) Have a great day!

  14. Another great gathering for the Class leftovers! Famous Daves BBQ was lip smackin good! When we got there they seated us in the bar area, and we were sharing the room with a rather noisy Bacholorette Party...you couldn't even hear yourself think! (I don't think that much anyway) but they soon moved us to a quieter place.....until they started sliding chairs around and it was kinda noisy in there too...but we were still be able to swap stories and make stuff up! Then Jeri tried to run over Delcie's foot in the parking lot! But all's well that ends well and we all made it out alive! What a fun group! We just like it so much...we have another gathering planned for next Wednesday! I'm glad they are all hanging around! Keeps me with things to look forward to! Way too much fun!

  15. Wow...our day started out beautiful and then this afternoon our wind came up and it's none too nice out there now! Ya can't hardly see the foothills! We've had a quite day on the ranch. Got my Income Tax all ready to go to the Accountant. Looking forward to our dinner meeting tomorrow at Famous Daves, if the bunch from Sidewinder road don't blow to Phoenix! Hope they've battened down the hatches!

    IYQ! Those cowgirls need to be payin ya in Cranberry Juice or Speghetti! They are lucky to have you around! ;)

  16. Sounds to me like house guys are having way, WAY to mch fun. I'm sitting here at home now after a fun filled drive home. First my computer died so had to switch to the Tablet, then SKP board wouldn't take my password so ended up getting a new one this morning. Had a minor problem with the Motor Home in N Komieforna' but did manage to escape that state. Weather here is normal for this time of year, meaning no more Shorts and T Shirts for a while. However it I'd good to be home and I'm looking forward to diving into a couple of projects here real soon

    Glad you made it! There's no place like home! No matter if your at it or in it!!! :D Hope ya get lots done and we're looking forward to seeing ya this summer!

  17. Not much happening today. We are recovering from yesteday. I got the controler installed in the lady's RV today and naturally it was a much bigger job than I had planned. It didn't fit the same hole the old controler did so I had to modify the RV a bit to make it fit. The old control was hard wired with no screw connectors. The new one had screw connectors, so I had to add spade lugs to the wires. The old one had 3 wires to connect the new one had 4 but we got it done and it works fine. Tomorrows job is going through Denise's rig with my induction type amp meter and make sure there is no big drain causing the batteries to discharge too fast. Then equalizing the batteries. I doubt if it has ever been equalized and I doubt if it has reached full charge in the past year. I'll check all that out before she heads back home. She spent most of the day taking Steves trying to recuperate from yesterday.

    Boy, you better watch out or somebody is gonna hire ya to start doing things! Sounds like you're staying plenty busy and you could be a tour guide to boot! That's o.k. , the last couple days I've been pretty busy with the crew that's left here in Yuma! We went on the Date farm tour at Martha's Gardens yesterday afternoon. Jeri, Terry, Steve, Carol, Freddy, Delcie, Danny and I. At the end of the tour we had Date Shakes! Then we came back to our place and had a patio Happy Hour with the Cranberry juice flowing all over and I fed everybody BBQ beef sandwiches and all kinds of snacks! Today, Goofy went golfing and I took lunch to Freddy and Delcie at Sidewinder road....and lo and behold.... Terry and Jeri had just pulled in there with their rig and toys... Jeri was busy with her stuff, after lunch and Freddys nap, I gave them a ride into town to Wally and replenished the Juices, then back and I bid them farewell for a while. Sunday we're meeting for dinner at Famous Dave's. There's yer update for the time being from Yuma! Having fun and missing those not here! :blink:

  18. Another great time had by the leftover bunch here in Yuma! Jeri fixed the most wonderful tasting steaks that I've had in a very long time! The other dishes were excellent and the company Extrordinary! Now our next meeting.... We have a Tour scheduled for Martha's Garden Date Farm Thursday Afternoon, and we are meeting in the parking lot at 2:00pm. After that, I want to invite all of ya back over here to our place for Appies and "Happy Hour!" You might want to bring your chairs. The group is dwindling and one of these days, will just be us left here in Yuma until we meet somewhere down the road. I'm having the best time with my RV Family! And you guys truly are that! See ya Thursday!

  19. One of the Cowgirls stopped by tonight and invited me to dinner at the Italian Restaurant in Brawley. Boy that's a switch. I took her up on it. Was a nice evening with good food and conversation. I finished the Gnome Home carving I've been working on so now all I have to do is twiddle my thumbs and of course I could do that pesky laundry which I'll have to break down and do or go naked.

    I got an email from Denise and she is planning on coming here to the Slabs so I can instruct her on what she needs to do to install her own solar system. She says she doesn't mind getting dirty crawling around under her Motorhome. So I don't mind sitting in my chair and drinking up her cranberry juice while she does all the work. I'm a little leary about asking her to come out from under the motorhome to pour me some more cranberry juice though. She might find a sudden use for that long screwdriver in her hand. We are going to have to work fast because I'll be leaving the Slabs near the end of the month.

    So glad you're finding good conversation and still teaching! Also, you better go get that laundry done, or you could move to that park that's Clothing Optional!!! ha ha You could almost be an Italian Food Critic, and a cranberry juice conneseur! Have fun, that's the important thing!

  20. We arrived at Rovers' Roost (Site 13) at 1:00. Easy drive no problems. Man, does it feel like home. Dozens of Hi How Are Ya's already and we haven't even been to Happy Hour.

    Last night was so fun. We will miss you all but I know that we will see some of you sooner and some of you later.

    {{{{HUGS}}}

    Glad you made the trip o.k. We have had an uneventful day here in Yuma. A day of rest, with a trip to the RV Store to buy lightbulbs....Al's had 15% off of everything sale today. Like to go to them. We will be coming over to see you in Casa soon after the 14th. Will let ya know the date. We will hold up the deal at Joes tomorrow, and miss you guys but talk about ya good! Rest and enjoy!

  21. Seems the wind decided to blow yesterday afternoon and into the evening so the Campfire got cancelled. However we found out that you can fit 12 people into Freddie and Delcie's rig. Great time with the group and yes we did talk about everyone that wasn't there. Today is an Off Day, so will start getting things around the rig ready to travel again. Also get a couple of things set up for tomorrow evenings Camp Fire\Wienie Roast.

    Joe

    Looking forward to that Wienie Roast tomorrow night....Was amazed how many different conversations we could get going in such a small space! My idea of a windy campfire..... inside a rig! ;) That's the Foofy way! It was another great time. We miss ya, all of you that aren't here, but if we'd have had many more at Freddie and Delcie's we would have been double stackin! Today is a day of resting up here at this rig!
