  1. Plant 41 is associated with Keystone’s Laredo 5th Wheel trailer line, which appears to be discontinued as of April this year. I would assume that Plant 705 is also associated with the Laredo line. Both plants being shutdown and closed for a now-discontinued trailer brand is no different than Ford or Chevy closing plants for their discontinued car models and laying off those workers.

I would believe that the plant closings are more in-line with the trailer being discontinued than recent sales/expectations.

  2. I have friends who have made their own “lockable” system for their generators, mainly for when on their service/welding trucks. While not full proof it does keep honest thieves (or atleast ones that don’t have proper tools or time) from stealing them. They use a piece of steel flat stock for the top plate, drill two holes for the side posts and place rebar through them. Then weld the rebar to the top plate. They put the plate over top of their generator and wherever they put their generator they secure it. (One has theirs at back of his cab, and drilled holes through his bed. He then welded a plate underneath to the rebar) You could do something like this to the storage plate of your trailer.

    PITA, yes! Pretty effective, yep!

  3. North Dakota (Number 2 of the worst drivers) has a lot of speeding tickets because A; There aren’t that many residents, so they tend to speed more because there aren’t as many people to worry about. B; The western half of the state (where most of the tickets probably come from) is mainly oilfield, and oilfield workers tend to speed a lot more than other people. C; The cost of a speeding ticket is insanely cheap. The base cost for a ticket is $10 for 1-10 mph over the limit, and $1 for every mph after 10. So you go 20 mph over the limit and it’ll cost you only $20.
