I figured out why the defrost fan wasn't blowing air through the vents on my 99 Volvo 610... the last person that was in the heater box had the fan pushed up against the heater core, and it is designed to be at 90 degrees to the heater core. At least it was a cheap fix!!

I have a 2000 610 the air horn is inside the right frame rail just behind the radiator mount. I have never looked for the city horn, but I will look tomorrow.
thanks, i looked theree but couldn't find anthing related to either horn

as the title states.... really dumb question, but where would the factory city horn be mounted on a 99 volvo 610? my truck didn't have either horn when i got it.

I just installed a scangauge kr in my 98 Volvo (D12) and it isn't reading a air inlet temperature. It isnt showing any codes saved either. is it possible for the sensor to fail and not throw a code? it seems like the motor doesn't run as smooth as it should. I honestly expected a injector code lol
the stock screen on the dash doesnt work at all, really expected the kr to light up with codes when i checked

just to update this thread, I got the switch wired correctly, and also found that the plug to the back of the exhaust brake switch wasn't making good contact.
I was delighted to hear the 1st stage of engine brake come on. The 2nd stage wasn't working so I was thinking it might be a switch issue. I was happy to have the 1st stage working to be honest.
About 120 miles into my next trip I had the switch set for both stages to work an while going down a 6% grade I heard a "pop" and the 2nd stage started working.
What a difference it is to drive now with both stages working. At 49k total weight the truck is a lot happier now!

If there are only two wires as shown in this schematic, it should not matter. It is just a switch,
I will try to PM you with the full PDF.
Chet
That did not work to send picture. Watch for PM.
thank you for the help, I have the switch wired correctly now, I will find out thurs if it solves the engine brake issue

Could anyone help me out with the wiring on the switch? 3 terminals, and 2 wires. my dumbass knocked both wires off and I'm clueless to figure it out. I would Really like for the exhaust brake to function again. Truck has the volvo motor if that makes a difference?

We found a couple suspect wires behind the valve cover that had a previous repair. Now if I could only get the exhaust brake to work...

thanks for the replies, I think we got it sorted enough to run

I'm at a loss here, my front and cab turn signals work, front markers and headlights too., but nothing works behind the cab. I don't have access to a wiring diagram so I am asked here for help.
What did you do to your truck today?

I did the overhead adjustment on my 99 volvo d12. I was lucky enough to pick up a shim set from a friend's co worker. I was hoping to find a tight valve or 2, but they were all pretty much good, only had to re shim one exhaust valve.
