  1. The Ranch in Lakewood, NM (between Carlsbad and Artesia) started to open on 1 February but the New Mexico Governor posed restrictions which limited access to our park. But, now we can open on a limited basis (25 percent of available rental spots). If you're a daily or weekly renter, laundry facilities are not available, but if you're renting for two weeks or more it will be available to you after that restricted time. The Ranch does not take reservations, so call ahead to check availability--575.457.2303. We hope conditions will improve so we can offer even more rental spots and unrestricted access to our facilities.

  3. Look into a commercial Karndean tile, that's what we used and are very happy with it.  As far as I know, we are the only ones in the RV world that has used this tile.  Only the outside tiles have to be glued...all the rest will lay flat and can be replaced, if needed, by picking it up and laying a new piece down.  You have to see it in person to really appreciate it.  It is one tough tile.  We have full-timed with it for three years and there are no marks or worn spots.

  4. I'm at the Low Hi RV Ranch 4 miles south of town at the corner of Country Club annd O'Kelley. It is the headquarters for Loners on Wheels a singles RVClub. But the public is more than welcome, we give Passport and Escapees discounts. Most of the RV parks in town are on business I-10 too close to the freeway and the railroad. Our park is very quiet at night fairly large spaces, a few Trees and pleanty cactus gardens to dress it up. Right now I'm in spaces 19 and 20 (I have 2 rigs) but my be in 13 and 14 by the time you get here. Just ask at the office what space Lee is in. Everyone knows me. Most of our sites are pull through but we also have electric & water only back in sites and dry camping if that's your style. We have a Laundry, showers, dump station, Morning coffee hour and 4pm happy hour. A lounge with TV and pool table and a few other things that slip my memory right now. I may be a little partial but I think our park is the best in town.

Thank you for the information...sounds like a nice place. Hopefully we meet up sometime.

  5. I know some of you out there know San Antonio, especially Ed and Lynn. We are going to be there on Wednesday the 11th and want to stay 2 nights. Who knows of a cheap place, bare bones is okay. We want to see the Alamo etc and leave the following day. Help? And yes, Ed and Lynn, we would love to see you if you can have time off on the 12th.

We stayed at the KOA in San Antonio. It's not the cheapest, but super convenient to see the Alamo. Catch the bus directly outside the KOA and it drops you off right at the Alamo. What you spend at the KOA you'll more than save in parking fees and traffic hassles.
