  1. We have a 2003 Freightliner SportChassis with a Caterpillar 3126B engine (300 HP) and Allison auto 6-speed transmission. GVWR is 19,500 and it hauls our 17,500 lb. (fully loaded) DRV Mobile Suites with no problem. We haven't tried some of the steeper/longer grades such as Towne Pass on US190 through Death Valley, but we've been all over the country and taken many passes and it has enough torque (I believe 800 lb.ft. at 1500 rpm) to get us up most anything. Obviously it won't be as powerful as the HDT's discussed above, but the MDT's are simpler and less expensive to maintain (e.g., no air b
  2. We have National General (formerly GMAC) for our 2003 Freightliner SportChassis. We've had it since 2010 and have been very happy. They insure the trailer and the truck together. We had one claim on the trailer and their claims people were very easy to work with.

    Freightliner M2

Hi, mant, We're fulltime RV'ers, have been on the road for 3.5 years. We tow a 36' 2011 DRV Mobile Suites with a 2003 Freightliner SportChassis, built on the M2 chassis. We have nothing but great things to say about the Freightliner, and we really like our Mobile Suites. We have lots of information we can provide you, but we think it makes more sense to provide it offline to permit give-and-take. If you want more information, contact us at our e-mail at scranton21@gmail.com. David & Kathy Scranton
  4. Hi, all. We are full-timers who currently tow a Mobile Suites 5th Wheel with a Freightliner Sportchassis. We're thinking of downsizing to a Class C and are looking carefully at the Phoenix Cruiser Model 2910T. Is anyone out there driving a Phoenix Cruiser? If so, please raise your hand and we'd like to chat with you (online or offline) about your experience with it. Thanks! David & Kathy Scranton SKP086419
