In post #15 it states that MIRC gets their articles from the iRV2 OP's work.
Unbelievable! (and I responded to that thread refuting their claim).

There was a link to Technomadia in that IRV2 thread in post 14 on page one.
It is possible there were more mentions of Chris and Cherie as well. Unfortunately, iRV2 has a policy of deleting links to any site they know of having any sort of income-related links on it or sites they consider "promotional", even if the information in the direct link is free and of general RV interest. There is some history with Technomadia links being blocked by their moderators in the past and they have been known to ban users who post such links.

Technomadia's information is also much more comprehensive since this is one of their "day jobs" and they've been following mobile Internet options for many years.

We had a similar problem a little over a year ago with a 722ViP receiver; it was the receiver itself. Occasionally hard rebooting would get it running OK for a while, but it would fail to receive 129 again. We had to replace the receiver.

Chris and Cherie have been tracking the 8800's drop out issue for a while now. If you are an rvmobileinternet.com member you can follow and contribute to the discussion in their forum.

Guys - are you using an old gUDP plan with your G7's?
We replaced one of our phones with a G7 and it will not wifi hotspot with the current OS (we do not have the paid-for hotspot feature).

Ditto. I am still using PDA net. Or is it that PDA net wont work on some newer phones?
FoxFi's (PDAnet) hotspot mode does not work on some of the newer phones.

The original (grandfathered) UDPs are not subject to throttling, nor limits on hotspot tethering (with the paid-for hotspot feature).
The new limited "unlimited" plans, including the 75 GB, are subject to network management plus after 20 GB of tethering your speeds drop to 600 kbps until your billing cycle resets.

This is the newest 8800L. It's plugged into a low-power 12v-5v USB source, which it did correctly identify, rather than the high-power wallwart that comes with it. I felt the thing and it's hardly even warm, certainly not overheating the battery, so I suspect it's ok. I need to run it on the 12v source.
Might I ask where you obtained the USB cable for it? Accessory spec'd for it from VZW or simply a standard (with appropriate current rating) USB cable?
Thanks!

We spent a month last winter in Florida. We had the USPS forward our mail to our address at the RV park. Even though we completed the forwarding request well in advance and had confirmation of our forwarding request being received, it was almost two weeks before we received any mail in Florida. Then upon returning home we learned that they did not forward any financial Mail, such as 1099s, or mail from medical facilities.
If you're only gone a month, you might be better off having the mail held for you rather than forwarded. That way you also don't risk mail arriving after you've already left Florida.
Another option might be the USPS's premium forwarding service, which is supposed to forward ALL your mail (including junk mail) once a week via Priority Mail. The downside of this is there is an initial fee, plus a weekly fee.
That said, I know from our financial institutions, statements and 1099's will not be forwarded via traditional mail forwarding. The latter looks like a change of address (albeit temporary) to the USPS system so this is likely due to security/identity theft concerns.

I'm trying to recall, but I think it was the same OP for that thread as for this "Best Internet" one....
