  1. Well, I'm guilty as well of having a really busy summer....we've done a really lot of miles both in the coach and then also clear to the East Coast in the car....did a stint up in the U.P....really like it up there. Now as I sit in the middle of Iowa in the hot and humid middle of a corn field, I got a note from Toni about upcoming winter! Made me wish it was already here!!!!! Anyway....our plan will be the same 'ol same 'ol... we have our site rented at the Palms for 6 months. So will already be in Arizona the first of October, and then we car trek to Nebraska to visit family and Dan will hunt for two months and then we will be back to our winter home before Christmas. After this hoppy hoppy summer, I don't think I'll be wanting to uproot my site...but a car trip won't be out of the question to come and visit.... I really like it when you guys go to Pilot Knob. I did hear that more stuff from the Q is going to be coming to Yuma at the Outdoor marketplace this year. When it comes to RV shopping, unless you're looking for a new rig, I've never wanted for anything right there in Yuma at the two Marketplaces and RV stores. All the afore mentioned things are very accessible in Yuma.... eating, shopping, and touristy things. A little light on the touristy....if you've already done them, but everything is pretty local.... I am going to go for a day trip to the big Tent at Q. though..... Let me know.....there's my 3 cents worth.... I'm a Yay for Yuma!!!! :D

  2. .I think it is great that classes of 2010, 2011 ,2012 are included in the get togethers of the Class- Less Class. I just hate to see this thred dropped, as there is a 2010, 2011, and 2012 thred's on the forum. I just wanted to bump this one back up. [Certanly not wanting to exclude anyone]

    LIFE IS GOOD!!!

    Freddy

Glad to hear that..... guess it'll be one more place to check. Life is definitely good. Just wish it would warm up past jacket weather! Where are you guys at?

  3. How weird. We just finished our last carrot cake muffin about an hour before. Thanks for the warning but....I like to share.

Yes she does! And she makes some of the most scrumpcous cakes! Thanks for sharing. I got one little piece and DH got the rest! Funny talking about carrot cake (my fav.) and carrot muffins....just finished making a batch this morning, and the next door neighbor discovered them and they are about gone already! Great minds think alike. Hope you're staying warm enough. It's really too cold for here! Can't believe we're all running around with coats, hats and gloves! I'm just being a hibernator!!! Tonight we're going with a group to Famous Daves....no campfire around here....too darn windy and cold.

  4. The gang went for breakfast this morning at Brownies in Brawley. Great Breakfast and lots of fun at the tables. It was a little chilly today and the clouds rolled in so it wasn't the best day for gadding with the neighbors. Soooooo, this evening I went back in to Brawley, picked up a few grocery items and went to the hardware and bought another water cooler. This is an American Made. "Rubbermaid" product so mayby it won't impart an smell and taste to the water in it. The old cooler is going on the free table and I hope none of my friends pick it up. It's reserved for enemies.

Foofy: I usually do that but when I look and see it is still connected it surprises me so much I go nuts and poke the send button as fast as I can. Only trouble is Madam Verizon is faster than I am and she disconnects me before I can get it sent. She hates me because I won't say nice things about her. I've never heard any nice things about her so how can I know a nice thing to say about her.

We actually got about two drops of rain tonight. Oh Well, That's a start.

    ;) I will like her a lot better when she turns it up to 4G around here! I even have 4G in Podunk Oxford Nebraska...now that's a switch! We got 6 drops or so just enough to make goofy go out and wash the car windows. Not the whole car, just the windows! :} Happy New Yearrrrrrrr..... I say as I'm going over the cliff! :}

  5. We plan to be to Yuma and hope to make Q for the tent show, It just depends on when we get released from the gate guarding. We need to go to our home base at Paducah for a few days. thhen will start West. stopping at the Ranch, Dreamcatchers and Casa Grande on the way. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!!

    LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!

    Freddy and Delcie

Have a great trip west! Looking forward to seeing you guys!!! :)

  6. &%#$@#&)(%^%$#@#$^&^%$&^^ Verizon.

I just typed a very long post. Got ready to send it and looked at the icon down in the tray and it said I was still connected. I hit the send button and after a couple seconds the icon showed I'd been disconnected. I tried to do a copy job real fast but just as I hit the ctrl+C the page went blank and I didn't get a copy. Of course it was the best post I've ever written. Very witty and full of good info. You'll have to take my work on that because I ain't going to type it again. Anyway I feel very good today and did a billion little jobs that I had neglected while I was sick. The only trouble is I didn't Accomplish a darn thing. Isn't that what full timing is all about.

Darn it! I think if your service is that bad, and you can't stay connected, you should highlight your post, right click and hit copy before you try to post...that way is saved so if that happens, you can just go back to the spot - put your curser at the top, right click and hit "paste." Your post should be right there again. :) glad you're feeling a little better. We are planning on coming to Q but have plans the 12th and 13th. The Yuma Territorial Prison has the 13th annual Gathering of the Gunfighters... and DH has wanted to go to that for 3 years, so I better let him go this year. Waking up to clouds and brrrrr this morning. At least it's not wet nor white! Glad you're feeling better!

  7. Here stick this G in the word diagnosis above. I think it fell out while being sent. LOL

Good idea! I mean about throwing the inhalers out! Espec. if you have high blood pressure and had a reaction like that! the saline won't hurt any to squirt your nose...it won't interact badly with anything. Don't know if I'd agree about the asthma or COPD unless your complaints and symptoms have a history! Sounds like a good old virus or maybe bronchitis and the antibiotics should fix that right up! Hope you get to feeling lots better. It's chillier here than I would like it, but at least we don't have to scoop it like the folks in the east!

  8. Happy Boxing Day! It's been a whirlwind week for us! Traveled 7 days in a row...at least 450 miles. Ran from the big blizzard and drove on skating ice for 100s of miles. Got here to Yuma Sunday night and have been on the run ever since with friends and Christmas.....by the way - We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and the best 2013 yet to come!

IYQ - All of my get well thoughts and prayers are headed your way! Keep after them to find out what you have!!! I second the idea with the Saline Spray...you can get that really inexpensive at Wally World or any pharmacy - I am doing it also... dry air really deals me fits. So sorry for your bad news. I have jet lag really bad. Just have to take a couple days to unwind. I actually drove all those miles this time.

Steve - Congrats on the work done! Just talked to another friend of ours that is heading back from Florida this spring that has a Phaeton...and has to have the whole roof and the floors under the tanks replaced! Guess that's a real common Tiffin problem. Thankfully they really stand behind their product.

Hope you all are just enjoying life. We are just going to relax for a while. Next summer and fall will be really jam packed busy again! Looking forward to seeing everybody that shows up! :} I heard from Delcie in Texas and they were having snow! They have one more week gate guarding. Love to all of you, our RV family. Have a great ending week of 2012 and we'll see ya in the new year!

  9. Yep I got here. I'm sitting here marveling about the fact that Verizon isn't dropping me off the internet every 5 seconds. I did have a little excitement coming down. After I had passed Yuma I checked the GPS and it said I had 121 miles to go. Then I checked the readout on the truck dash and it said I had enough fuel to go 123 mile. I said to myself "No sweat I'll stop in Gila Bend for gas that's about 50 miles before Casa Grande. When I finally got to the shell statio n in Gila Bend, I had only enough fuel left to go 2 miles. Boy that is too close for comfort. And there isn't anything between Yuma and Gila Bend not even Jack Rabbits. Oh Well, Toni's Lemon Pie calmed my nerves when I finally got here. That readout on my truck dash was designed by a politician. It lies.

So glad you got there o.k.. Really virtually tasting that pie!! Lemon's my favorite! Glad you can be there in "the fold" for a bit and shake those "blues" and winter yukkies! Don't know our exact route yet.....the weather will dictate that next week. Will let ya all know if we're headed your way. We haven't had enough of the cold yet! Headed to Omaha on Monday. :[ Enjoy!

  10. Well, it's been a hard couple of days for us..... the friend with the Brain Tumor passed away last Saturday morning. We got the Ambulance Call, and knowing the address, DH stayed home. It's been kinda sad around here. The family visits and the Funeral yesterday. All in all....he's in a better place and he was fortunate to not have suffered. Passed away at home in his own bed and never missed a day. Just passed quietly in his sleep. Life is too short. Diagnosed in September and gone Dec. 1. So glad we came home when we did and got to see him a few more times. Glad we are all a mobile bunch and get to move about the country. This home visit is soon coming to an end. Just a little over a week and we will be back on the road! Hope this finds everybody well. Looking forward to seeing some of you at least this winter. I feel blessed to have met this group! Party on! :)

  11. We expect to get the itch again soon too, but we're in Nacogdoches, TX until at least the first or 2nd week in Jan, getting our coach painted. Full body paint, paint the roof, new headlights, etc. Won't be able to recognize our rig when they get all done.

We've moved out of the rig into an efficiency apartment that the company (Xtreme Paint and Graphics) provides at no cost, so we're quite comfortable, but it's pretty weird being totally out of the coach. This town has a lot of activities (Xmas season), and we have friends in the area (and Nancy is finding us new friends every day...), so no danger of boredom. Don't think we will get to Q this year, though.

Awesome! We had the end caps painted of our old coach in Georgia and had to stay at a Days Inn and pay for it! We also will be getting a paint job this coming spring in Bremen Indiana at the Precision Painting Factory that originally painted this coach we have now. Glad you are enjoying your time away and will love to see pictures when you get it back. Have a great winter you guys, sorry we won't see you this time.

  12. Oops, I forgot to move our peg.

By the way, we are meeting Peter and Beatrix and another SKP couple you folks haven't met at Da Boyz in Yuma on Saturday night. Anybody in the area and wants to join us, the more the merrier.

Jealous! Starting to really count the days until we're back. The weather here has been absolutely perfect for this late in the year. We really need moisture though. Have fun and enjoy Da Boyz.... I have a favorite Italian restaurant here in this area too, but we have to drive an hour! I talked to a gal at the Palms that thought all those rigs were coming from the Imperial Dunes also. It's a gathering that looks like a city out there...even more crowded than Q.

  13. Ok...so it's the morning after.....I'm the proud owner of sore feet and dishpan hands...all in all the dinner was chaotic but a success! I'm thankful it's over! But now on to the good stuff. I'm very thankful to have met and call you all friends. Thankful that Jim is through his latest and hopefully last surgery! Thankful that IYQ has Tanks and No Heart! Thankful that I didn't choose to be in a nice warm room and not out shopping with millions of crazy people! Also thankful for no snow yet...YET being the operational word, it's coming this weekend I think. We are having a great vacation from our RV life, but the hitch itch is starting. Our Christmas Celebration is on December 1st and we will do all this craziness again, our gift this year will be family pictures on that day. Time to go and break out the left overs.... Nebraska football starts at 11 am! GO BIG RED! Here's hoping we see you all again this year!

  14. Well James was here with water at 7:30 this morning. He must have read my post last night. Now I have plenty of water he even left a stand for a 100 gallon tank which he said he'll bring just as soon as he gets the truck back from replacing a ball joint. The front wheels did look a little goofy. Now seeing the tank in position with water in it will be the final test. Nothing at the slabs moves on schedule. They all must be full timers. About all I got done to day was a trip to the dump then this evening I took Two of the Cowgirls to the Italian Restaurant for dinner. I might survive now.

Thought about you watching the news last night and they had a piece about a Central Nebraska Wood Carvers Club.... they meet twice a month and they are having a showing! Very interesting pieces. Have never heard about it before....

Be careful! One of these days you're gonna be singin' "Dat's Amore'!" :} Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving

  15. Imagine our surprise! We drove all the way to the end of the bumpy, bumpy road in front of the Pilot Knob resort and there was NO ONE, not one rig there. At first we thought we would stay anyhow but thought that we would be leaving the rig all alone when we went to town. So we are on the back road. We found three other rigs and joined them. We have a gorgeous spot on the edge with a little mesquite tree, a fire pit and sand. There are 27 channels on the tv (yeah about 10 are Spanish) and three bars on my aircard. We will be here for 2 weeks.

The people from one of the other rigs, also from BC, came over and introduced themselves right away.

Glad you are situated and safe! Nice that you have contact service too! Wish we were there, but we still have Thanksgiving and our Christmas celebration and then we will head to South Dakota for Danny to renew his license, since that date didn't fall when we were there! THEN we will head south.... now my objective will be to get up to S.Dak and back out minus a blizzard! Have fun. Did you find a White Sheet? DH suggested Circle K.

  16. Linda.....give one of us a call or text message before you pull-up stakes, the CG here at the Elks is currently FULL. I'm not sure if anyone is leaving tomorrow or not. We had to park on one of the 2-gravel sites because the concrete sites were full. I talked to the host and he wasn't sure when anyone was leaving.

    Paul 330.933.0100

    Marsha 330.933.0690

thanks for the info! We are not Elks...but may look into it when we are looking for a park..... sounds great!

  17. Sounds like you're doing GREAT, Linda. Enjoy the Thanksgiving celebration at Rainbow's End.

We're right down the road in Houston (arriving Saturday evening 11/17 for about a month) so if you get down this way, give a yell. If we head up to Livingston, we'll stop for lunch.

    Enjoy your stay

    Paul & Marsha

Hey there Paul and Marsha...we're thinking of exploring that area this spring.....where do you stay in Houston?

  18. Thanks for the update. Such an ordeal and more fun in 2 weeks. Glad it went well. We're thinking of you. Hang in there.

    Tina and Jeff

Ditto ..... what Tina said.... we think of you often and all of our good thoughts and prayers your way...hope then that's the end of it. In the meantime, you better practice up on running, as when he gets all done, he'll be chasing ya around for sure! ;)

  19. I had [planned on it, even made reservations at Rivers Edge for Jan and Feb. But just have to much happening here at the Homestead. While I'll miss the campfires, and seeing everyone, I will have a nice warm "Man Cave" to spend my time in.

I'll make a couple of trips to the coast and hope to catch a good storm for some wave action pictures instead of sitting down there wearing shorts and T shirts.

    Joe

Know how these changes go....we've really had our share of change of plans this year. Not really solicited either! We will miss ya in Arizona...and I am cautious saying we will be up there again this summer, as we have to go back to Indiana in May! Would really like to see some of those Wave Pictures however! Hope you can share :} Nothing wrong with a Man Cave! I am sitting in my Woah man cave right now listening to honest to goodness thunder in November! Somebody p'd off Mother Nature for sure!!!

  20. I've been out of touch a long time but everything is fine. I'm in Austin, TX, living in my new RV and Dave is safely back in Minnesota. I've only driven it once but it handles well and I'll be going out again in the next day or so for more punch list stuff and groceries. Hopefully, I won't get too nervous driving this big to me rig. :)

    Linda Sand

Good luck in this new adventure Linda! Nice Rig. We will all be here for Mouth support. !!!!

  21. My heart breaks for all those people and animals affected by the storm in NY and NJ. We are grateful our friends and family in VA were spared most of the wrath.

Jim had all his pre-op stuff this morning. Now he has to wear his cute little hospital bracelet until after his surgery on Tuesday.

Hey there guys - you know our good thoughts and special prayers are headed your way for Jim to get right through this surgery and get well fast. Hang in! We will catch up one of these days and have a good visit!
