  1. It is with great sadness and regret that Gail and I will no longer be able to host the National HDT Rally. I truly would hate to see the rally just fade away as so many people have benefited from it. I am looking for someone to step up and take over so others can continue to take advantage of the benefits that the rally provides.

You wouldn’t be stepping into it cold. I will turn over to whoever takes on the task all of the equipment that I have accumulated over the years. That would include the sound system, PA, projector, video screen, computer, the Blackstone griddle used for the breakfasts, all of the kitchen equipment and more.

If you are interested in taking over the National HDT Rally, please contact me at sdixon747@gmail.com. We can then arrange a time for a phone call to discuss details of what is involved.

My hope is to still attend as much as I can, but my truck was on the back of a tow truck today and I won't know before the first part of next week what it will need.

Have a good time and stay safe.

    Rod

So sorry to hear that Rod. Hope it doesn't turn out to be anything too serious. See ya when you get here.

  3. PreRally Rally

The "PreRally Rally" is well under way! Happy Hour everyday at 4:00. Meeting new friends and reacquainting with friends from years past.

Even with the FMCA Rally being here, as of 10:30 this morning (Thursday) there are still 19 full hookup sites available. If or when those fill up, there are still many, many water/electric sites available. Most if not all of the FMCA group will be gone by Sunday morning where you will be free to move to your favorite site. Come on in, we're lookin' forward to seein' ya!

  5. National HDT Rally “PreRally Rally”

For those of you coming early for the National HDT Rally “PreRally Rally”, please be sure to let the office know that you are here for the National HDT Rally to get your parking discount. The regular rate is $30 per night but if you tell them you are with the National HDT Rally the rate is only $24 per night.

There is another rally going on the week prior to the National HDT Rally, but I have been told there is plenty of parking for those of us coming in early for the “PreRally Rally”. So far there are already 4 or 5 of us here so the “PreRally Rally” has already begun!
  6. Just a reminder, the National HDT Rally Early Registration Discount ends soon. The last day for the early registration discount and to order an event t-shirt is September 10th. After that, the registration price goes up and I can no longer accept t-shirt orders. To get more information and to register go to NationalHDTRally.com

  7. The 2021 National HDT Rally registration will open soon. A few final details to work out. As a reminder, there is a nice prize to the first one to register! As soon as registration opens, an announcement will be made here as well as the sites linked below…

We're planning to get there a few days early, for the "pre" rally.  I was wondering.......  I have an old time drink dispenser/chiller.  The kind where the liquid sort of fountains against the clear lid and cascades down the sides, like they used in the old soda fountains for lemonade.  I could bring it and we could fill it with box wine or other refreshing beverage.  It's heavy, so I won't bring it if there's no interest.

Gail said you can’t come if you don’t bring it. 🤪

  10. HHRV has some great info. I still use it occasionally either with an iPad or MBP. I always thought a phone makes a lousy computer.

With Drupal 7 going away, I hope that doesn’t mean that we will lose HDTRally.com There is a lot of great historical info about past HDT Rallies. I don’t know what is involved with converting it to WordPress. Then it could all be saved on the NationalHDTRally.com site.

Dennis, you will be missed! Looks like we are going to have a good turnout this year. Good luck with the new puppy!

  13. People have asked “What do I get for my registration fee?” Well, in addition to a week of fun and learning with seminars presented by some of the foremost experts in the field of using an HDT in RV service, we have several meals catered in throughout the week. Pizza and Subs on opening night and Barbecue on Wednesday. We have an ice cream social with more flavors than Baskin-Robbins.Friday night is “Pot Luck”. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings we have a full home cooked breakfast including sausage, eggs, pancakes, home fries, coffee and more. On Tuesday and Thursday we have a continental breakfast including coffee, donuts, fruit, yogurt and juices and more. Saturday morning we have our farewell brunch featuring breakfast casseroles, biscuits and gravy, coffee and fruit juices.

All RV parking sites include 30 and 50 amp electric along with water and sewer. All sites are long, level and can accommodate even the biggest of rigs. An HDT is not required to attend. Everyone is welcome.

The early registration discount has been extended through September 14th. Go to NationalHDTRally.com to register.

This is good news to me, but unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I had planned to be a lot closer to Hutchinson in October, but my plan hit a speed bump keeping me over 8 hours away and working Monday to Friday each week. Depending on the weather, I may think about an overnight trip on one of the weekends, but those don't really work out well for seeing everyone. I hope everyone is able to remain safe and remember it's really the hand washing that does the most. Also important to do soap and water in addition to the hand sanitizer.  I have other suggestions as far as Mask usage, but won't share unless requested.

    Rodney Lappin RN

Rod, you will be missed. Sorry you can't make it.

I would like to hear what you have to say about masks. I certainly respect your opinion as a nurse that is in the thick of it. You can PM me if you would rather.

    Stay Safe and Healthy

    Steve

  15. The National HDT Rally is on! I have been in touch with the Kansas Department of Health and EnvironmentHutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, and the Kansas State Fair Administration. They all agree that with common sense precautions it is safe to have the National HDT Rally. For example following the CDC recommended social distancing, hand sanitizing, and recommend wearing a mask when indoors or when you can’t socially distance. Hand sanitizing stations will be setup in the buildings and I will have a limited supply of masks available upon request. Tables etc. will be sanitized daily with hospital grade disinfectant.

We feel that the National HDT Rally will be safe informative and fun. We encourage everyone to come out and join us. I have extended the early registration discount to September 14th. To register, go to NationalHDTRally.com and click on REGISTER.
