  1. Join in? We know where we sit in the summer but actually don't sit too long. Heading for Alaska Tuesday. It' amazing how fast the weathermen change the forecast.

What about having a winefest this winter? Marsha and Paul do it during the summer so why can't we do it during the winter. There are quite a few of us that will be close to the Phoenix area for a few months. If each person brought a "unique" bottle of wine for an area they visited during the summer, we could have our own wine tasting adventure. Thoughts?

I'm jealous, I would love to go to Alaska. We would do the winefest, even tho we don't drink wine, we would find something to bring.

  2. We've been lucky in we're just a tad north of Miami and haven't had the rain that Jeff has had. However, next year I'm thinking San Diego but we really do like Bonita Springs ... really, really do. Figure we'll head west in the spring sometime and would like to visit with Freddy and Delcie before they head on to Colorado and the Gillespie crew before they head north. I know we'll see the rest of those in Texas sometime and somewhere (yes, you, Roger). Thinking we'll probably put RV in storage in Arizona someplace until fall and then start all over again with the snowbird thing in the fall. You know how good we are at making plans and keeping them.

Let us know when you are heading this way. It would be nice to meet up with you.

  3. We were in Mission last year and I didn't think it was that bad but we spent a month in Port Isabel and the wind never seems to stop. We are at Gonzales, Texas right now and I am so tired of the wind, the rain and the cold. Although we are having sun for the next 7 days. Yeah!!!!

  4. Dodge problem! Carol went to the post office yesterday and when she put the window down to mail the letter, it wouldn't come back up! All of the other windows still work, so I think the master switch is the culprit. All of the power is ok, the switch has power to it but not out. Now I finally got a salvage yard in Astoria to find one in Portland and they are having it sent here on Thursday. The dodge dealer here said they could get one in a couple of days, but theirs was $125 and the salvage one was $55. I think I'll try the salvage one first. Problem is the window is down and it's raining. Ok, trash bag and duct tape, but I don't have any clear trash bags. Just hard to drive the car until it stops raining! Aaarrrrgghhh! :o

Hopefully the switch takes care of your problem. That has happened to our Jeep Liberty on all 4 windows. There is a part inside that breaks and the window falls down and won't go up. Our Jeep is a 2006 and it was a problem with that year. Sure is a pain when that happens esp. when it's raining. Hope you get it fixed quickly.

  5. I keep putting off that update because I keep hearing stories like yours J & T. Hoping that they get most of it straightened out before the update period is over.

Jeri, I pay a yearly subscription to Carbonite to back up my PC. Well worth it. I don't even know that it's running. It's constantly backing up all of my data to "the cloud".

    Roger

I have been thinking about signing up for Carbonite. Do you have an air card, and does it work ok with it? Would it eat up a lot of your data? Thats why I haven't done it.

  6. Ed has decided to join the computer crowd, so with my limited knowledge I have been setting up his computer and teach him what I know, which isn't a lot. lol I did set him up a facebook page. I have upgraded both of our computers to Windows 10. It seems to be pretty good. Windows 8 was horrible.

On another note, it has been freezing here in Texas. Wish it would stop raining and get a little warmer Makes gate guarding really hard. When this gate is done, we are heading down to the southern part for a month. Hope it's warmer down there.

  7. We have really enjoyed being with Bill and Jan the last couple of days. Due too eye sugerys and Dr app. we will not gate guard this winter. Thinking about AZ, or S Texas, Everyone stay safe!

    LIFE IS GOOD!!!

    Freddy and Delcie

Not sure where we are going to be either. But in Texas right now, so if you guys end up in S Texas let us know, maybe we can meet up. We're not sure if we are going to make it to AZ. We want to, but haven't decided. We are gate guarding right now. We have a pretty good gate and will probably be here for at least a month more. Hope to see ya. Ed and Lyn

  8. I know some of you out there know San Antonio, especially Ed and Lynn. We are going to be there on Wednesday the 11th and want to stay 2 nights. Who knows of a cheap place, bare bones is okay. We want to see the Alamo etc and leave the following day. Help? And yes, Ed and Lynn, we would love to see you if you can have time off on the 12th.

Just read this tonight. We have a gate right now so won't be able to meet up with you. Too bad. Have a good time in San Antonio. We enjoy the River walk and the Missions.

  9. Not sure what kind of refridge you have. We have a Norcold and you can't just replace the seals. We checked into it a couple of years ago. You need to replace the whole door.

That is not what I wanted to hear. We have the Dometic. So guess I will have to check into it further.

We have been talking about coming to Quartsite this Jan. but not sure at this time. Will know when it gets closer. We would love to see everyone again. We had solar put on so have been wanting to try it out.

  10. You tell Ed to quit arguing with the bird and pay attention to where he is driving. We both know the bird is smarter than Ed.

I'm not sure which one is more stubborn. Ed usually wins. haha We are planning on coming to Quartsite in January but I guess some of the group is heading to Florida.

  11. We feel your pain Lee.

Starting week five here at Master Tech RV Repair (alias the "Hotel California") in Elkhart IN. This place must be living on it's past reputation. They have too few qualified techs and way too much business coming in.

    Roger

We have been waiting 4 weeks for 2 bay doors to come in. Ed tangled with a boulder and I think the boulder won. We never thought it would take this long to get them in. At least we don't have to stay there. I sent you a pm.

  12.

You must have really been searching through this forum to find that post on joining rules way back in January of 2013. That's what we've always said about being a card-carrying member. You "gotta" start as a full-timer, you "gotta" post on the forum and you "gotta" attend a get together with the group in January. Keep posting and you'll eventually get one of those cards.

Okay, I'm jealous, we have did all those things and never got a card. Didn't even know there was a card to be had. How did we miss out on that. I guess I need to post more often and maybe we will get our card. <_<:)

  13. Now that was a nice bird, I can't believe anything could be as stubborn as Ed. Let us know when you head east and maybe we can get together.

She ended up with a scissor beak and Ed has to catch her and trim it. She gives him a hard time and sometimes she doesn't want to go in her cage. She will get on the stick (still won't get on his finger) and just as she gets close to her cage she flies off in the other direction. It gives him something to do. haha

We would love to get together. I was just looking to see if we could head that way. I haven't mapped out our route. So I will let you know when we head out.
