  2. Grizz1.....Sounds like you're not having any fun at all😀 Be safe and I'm glad you're having a blast...Skeet
  3. Louise....So nice to have you in the group. Keep us up to date on your journey to full time. Take care.....Skeet
  4. It's hard for me to believe ...But our house went on the market yesterday. We've done a LOT of work over the past year..... updating, painting, landscaping, etc. The market here has been hot....I hope it continues. After living in the house for 27 years..its strange to see it on Zillow. I haven't had a margarita in a long time...but when the house sells...I'm going to have "several". Skeet
  5. Bob, Gosh...ya just never know what life is gonna throw your way. It's got to be disappointing...but family comes first. I'm sure mama-in-law is gonna appreciate your help. About 20 years ago my mama-in-law moved in with us for 3 years until she passed. She was unable to speak for the last 2 years of her life...but we could tell how thankful she was for our help. I wish a speedy recovery for your mama-in-law and hope you'll be hitting the road in the not to distant future. Take care.....Skeet
  6. MaxwellsAway......Welcome to the "limbo" class of 2020. Most of us are in a "holding" situation....just waiting for life to return to normal. Glad you found a place to hunker down. I'm ready(finally) to put the house on the market....but the market isn't ready for me. Hopefully....it will work out. Stay safe and take care..... Skeet
  7. Sure hope you get it sold and are able to get on the road. We were supposed to put ours on the market 4/15...but with the closures here in Washington state due to the virus....it's looking more like June 1st(I hope). Take care and welcome to class of 2020' Skeet
  8. Welcome to the class of 2020. Glad to hear that your health issues have been taken care of. We are planning to put the house on the market April 15. Been looking at class A diesels...have narrowed it down to Tiffin or Newmar. Keep us posted on your progress and best wishes. Skeet
  9. Bob... this morning my wife and I were just saying to each other .....that we would be happy to be in Quartzite this time next year. We want to spend some time near Saguaro cactuses(or is it cacti ?).....and experience those beautiful desert sunsets. Sounds good to me..... Skeet
  10. Welcome Good Life Highway! Sounds like you wish you could go full time tomorrow. At least you've got the house sold...the downsizing of the belongings can be eye opening. We keep wondering how can 2 people can acquire so much..and then sell it for so little(or donate it). I was ready to go full time 10 years ago.... but my wife has been ready for about 2 years...and now....she's even more excited than I am. We too want to "get on the road" and hope this time next year we're in Arizona. Please keep in touch and let us now how you are progressing on your June 1st goal. Skeet
  11. Bob...your progress sounds like mine. A couple more weeks of work inside and maybe 2 weeks weeding, pruning and sprucing up the property to make it look pretty. Still shooting for no later than April 1st to list it. Hang in there.. Skeet
  12. Danandfreda Congrats on the house closing. We've been looking at class a's...and sometime in 2020(when the house sells) we'll become residents of SD too! I bet you're getting excited!
  13. CasperBob.....Welcome ...it sounds like you're rarin' to get on the road. I have some minor touch ups to go on the house(been doing major projects since April). And..once winter is over... hope to put house on the market by middle of March. Keep in touch...and keep us updated on your progress.
  14. Welcome Steve & Tami...Nice to have you join the rest of the 2020 class. It sounds like you have everything planned out ..and you have a quality truck and fiver. We haven't yet decided where to domicile.... in SD or Texas. Our son and granddaughter live near Dallas...we'll be spending a couple months a year with them...so leaning towards Texas. We haven't spent any time on the Gulf coast...but sure want to some day. Keep in touch.......Skeet
  15. Dan....welcome to the 2020 class. Sounds like you are as anxious as I am to get on the road. Where you gonna change your domicile to? I was just telling the wife a few minutes ago...that I hope we're someplace warm by next Halloween.
  16. Hey Michele...Thanks for joining and hope to hear more from you as you get closer to the start of your journey. I'm still working on projects around the house and property. I should be done with the all the major upgrades by Xmas...then when winter is over...I can put the house on the market. Hoping for an early spring(so is my real estate agent) DW and I want to get on the road! Wishing you the best during your test runs. Keep us posted how everything is coming along. Take Care Skeet
  17. Thank you Linda I guess I started the Class of 2020.. My DW says I'm only good at starting trouble....I hope she's wrong....this one time😊. I was in the class of 2019...but life got in the way. So now.. the house goes up for sale the first of march 2020. In the meantime...we'll be looking at motor homes and spending Thanksgiving and Xmas with our son and granddaughter in Texas. We've been in our house for over 26 years...and even though we love where we live....we don't enjoy all the work(5 acres) like we used to. We live in SW Washington state and we get about 65-70 inches of rain and sometimes a lot of snow every year. The winters are wet, gray, long and gloomy. We would like to chase spring like weather year round and see as much of the U.S. and Canada as possible. I've been reading this site and and others..since 2007..and I've learned a lot. But..I know once we're on the road....I'll really get an education. I hope I don't get too lonely in the Class of 2020.
  18. Please correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't see a Class of 2020...
  19. CasperBob...Welcome to Class of 2019. Like you I'm working on the house...should be done with the exterior by middle of September. Then.. remodel 2 baths and kitchen, paint the interior, new carpet in 3 bedrooms...and on...and on. Hope to put on market 1st of May 2019. Keep us informed on your progress..and best of luck to you.
  20. Welcome Wayne...hope everything goes smooth in your transition to full time rv life. I worked with a guy who owned a Carri-Lite. He gave me a tour of it about 8 years ago...what a beautiful, well built rig! I'm in the midst of doing a ton of work on the house. I won't be able to put it up for sale until spring 2019. I wish I was outta here 7-8 years ago. I know what you mean about winter...I want to find 70 degrees.and sunny for the rest of my life. Take care & keep us informed on your progress.
  21. Mark, I live in SW Washington state...about 35 miles north of Portland, OR. Real estate prices started going insane here about 16 months ago. I'm hoping it'll still be a sellers market in spring of 2019. The falls rains should start here soon...so that means about 40-50 inches of rain .....between Oct to April. It's green year round...but ya sure pay for it. The summers can be wonderful ..I only used my AC in the house ...about 7 days this year. We plan on chasing 70 degree weather when we fulltime. We're not as tough as you Kansas people...when it comes to heat/humidity If you've never been out this way....you should put it on your list. Lots of mountains, streams and the ocean is only about 90 minutes away. If you want to experience temps in the 70's in August... the Washington coast would be the place to be. I'm starting to sound like I work for the state vistors bureau. Take care......
  22. I might as well join the class of 2019. DW and I retired in our 50's... in 2008. I've been reading this site (and many others) since 2007. We are hoping to put the house on the market spring of 2019. Gotta huge amount of work to do on the house before then.....but are determined to plow thru it. We both had jobs in the transportation industry...I had a delivery area in 5 states and my wife is a retired railroad conductor. We love seeing whats over the next hill and are excited about 2019. We have tent camped, backpacked and rented motorhomes in the past. We are planning on purchasing a class A in late 2018/ early 2019.
