Does anyone have any recent experience with USPS temporary forwarding? You're supposed to be able to set up temporary forwarding for 6 months, and then have the option to renew for another 6 months.
My 6 month temporary forwarding order is expiring in a few days, but when I go to the USPS web site to renew for another 6 months, it won't let me. If I try to set the expiration date beyond the original 6 months, it says: "The Date to Stop Forwarding Mail cannot be more than 6 months after the Date to Begin Forwarding Mail. You will receive a notice allowing you to extend. Total forwarding time cannot exceed 12 months."
But I have received no such notice, via email or otherwise.
Meanwhile I can't select a new expiration date beyond the original 6 months.
Has anyone recently been successful at doing the 6-month renewal on the web? If so can you explain how you did it?
