We are Escapees members but do not use their mail service. The two address system simply does not make any sense to me. They're are several SD mail service to chose from.

As stated earlier start a mail service before the house sells so that you have any utility bills and your financial statements with the new address. Once the house sells simply go to SD, change you're domicile, get new drivers license, regesters your vehicles, and done. Takes one afternoon.

Also don't forget you will need to change your wills and health derictives to SD as well.

I'm obviously in the minority here. The FWT was sanatizer once when we first bought the coach almost three years ago. Since most public water systems are chlorinated I simply drain tamed refill the FWT about once a year. We have a whole house filter and a filter in the fridge for the through the door water. Water tastes great and neither of us has died, barffed, or gotten sick from the water.

I also drink water from public water fountains, water at restaurants, and water at other peoples rigs.

Why change from FL? It is one of the benefits of the BIG three; FL, TX, SD. They have good mail services and make it easy to maintain a domicile. What's the driving factor to change to another state?

I have seen people full time wtih everything from birds to pot bellied pigs (Rosie the pig). Met a couple full timing with two Great Pyrenees in a 40ft MH. Rosie was 175 lbs and in a TT with her "mom", maybe a 32 footer. So yes, people do full time with large pets.

Pets are a commitment whether small or large and they do restrict your activities somewhat. Some parks can set you up with a dog walker if your going to be away for the whole day, others you will just have to adjust to your pets schedule. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. There are only a few parks that have dog parks big enough to exercise a dog. Walking will be there main exercise, rain or shine.

For the first few months take the doge every where with you. Shopping, outdoor restaurant, any kind of gathering, put him in a day care where the dogs are free to mingle, etc. Get the dog used to kids and being petted by strangers. A little extra effort now will pay off later.

Here is how we handled it. Two months before selling the house we signed up for our mail service, St. Brendan's Isle in FL.

Then we we started the process of changing our address for our utilities, bank with new checks, insurance statements, and everything else. You will need some of these documents with the new address later. Do not change your address with the post office yet. While waiting to make to official move we simply had the mail service periodically send our mail back to our house.

When we sold the house we then notified to post office but by then most of our mail was already going to the mail service. Next step for us was to go to Florida and register to vote, get drivers license and register our vehicles. Took about three hours including a lunch break. Here is where you will need "proof" of residency. They will want some official documents with your new address on them, the may be utility bills, insurance documents, bank statements, etc. Even though our utility was Indianapolis Power and Light it had the Florida address and so was acceptable. If you go to the mail service web site they will most likely have a detailed description of what you need as TX might be slightly different.

Remember you will need to change things like Last Will and Testament, medical authorizations and such as these are only recognized if they are from your official domicile state. Your medical insurance will most likely change as well.

All in all its a pretty simple processes long as you have the necessary documents.

Other than the doge having crates, we pretty much follow everything the OP said. Thanks for posting it.

We travel with two Miniture Schnauzers. Both are well trained, though we sometimes wonder who is training who. Neither is crated now though both were cate trained for there first two years. DW and myself enjoy nature and stay mostly at state parks around the country so the dogs usually gets lots of excercise. When left in the coach we close all of the blinds, turn on the TV and put the A/C fan to ON. We also put a note on the door with our cell number and ask to be called if the dogs are barking inappropriatly in addition we alwasy ask the neighbors if they were barking. So far we have not had a problem.
