Yup, a belated Merry Christmas to everyone and a early Happy New Years!!

As far as the our seasons go, we are still in Arizona and will be for another 3 months staying as far away from ever seeing all four season ever again.

But we are in a cold snap right now so we almost see all four seasons in each day, freezing at night and shorts weather during the day for the next 4 days. And if we go out for a bike ride or walk close to evening or early morning we can pretend that all of the white fabric the park covers plants with is snow and that's as close to seeing snow I need to be LOL!!

It's not so bad Dave. Since I don't have to work in it or go out in it, it's rather pretty looking out my window at it!

Well said Steve. When we first met the Group in Jan. of 12 in Q we didn't know what we were getting in to. We had posted on here that we were coming to Q and had never been there before. Next thing we know we are getting offers to come camp with the Group. For all we knew the Group was a bunch of ax murderers. LOL! This bunch of people quickly became our RV Family and such great friends. It's was so much fun "running into" each other around the country. We do miss fulltiming but it was time to establish a homebase. Once that's done we can travel some again.

Steve and Roger your Packers are making some big changes?

    Travel safe everyone

    Jeff   😊

Hopefully, "change is good". As they say...you can't fire the whole team so, I guess the coach had to to go. Speaking as a Packer owner (yes, I own one share!) it looked to me that there was plenty of blame to go around. McCarthy had a good 13-year run but, his game plan was getting stale and predictable. Thinkin' that we should sit Rodgers and play for a high draft pick. GO BRONCOS (sorry Dave)!! :P

We sure enjoyed some of the old group visiting us at our new winter home in Yuma.  Jeri & Terry, Janice & Jerry, Mary Jane & Tom came in and relieved us of our "rib supply, and we had a great time catching up with everyone.  Interesting how our group has evolved from the class of 08 beginnings that first January in Quartzsite.  We have bought and sold motorhomes, 5th wheels, and travel trailers.  Have bought and sold trucks, cars, and summer/winter homes, but most of all we have made lasting friendships that we never would have experienced if we had stayed in our "sticks and bricks"!  You newcomers to the full time lifestyle enjoy, it gets better all the time.  Steve

I hear ya Steve...people always ask me "what's the best thing" in our full-timing travels. I always tell them it's the people I've met and the new friends I have!

This forum used to send notifications to my email when folks posted.  Not anymore and I even had to look up my password for this.

We're in Casa Grande and we have certainly been busy.  It's been a constant roller coaster ride.  However, we can vouch for Steve's BBQ.  He fixed us fabulous ribs!

I/We may be in Kerrville in April but have a granddaughter getting married in May so heading back to Washington then.

I've been having trouble too Jeri. Every time that I want to reply to a message, I have to get my password reset...Pain ITA!

When in May? Kerrville is about 1 1/4 hours away from our house. Would be great to get together again.

Roger, y'all going south this winter?

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff    😊

Not sure yet. Would sure like to. Will let you know if we do. Right now I've got some doctor stuff to tend to before the end of the year. Hit that high deductible...yippee. Took out a cataract in the left eye last week. After reading about the great results from the group I thought I'd give it a try. Because I have glaucoma, they also put in a stint to relieve pressure. Boy, howdy it sure smarted that first day but got much better the next.

Hi y'all!   Hope to see you sometime also. We are going to stay close to the house this winter.

As I type this it is 28 degrees outside. I thought I lived in south Texas not Iowa. LOL!

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff     😊

I heard that! 17 little degrees here in Iowa this a.m. November has been like January so far this month. Had to buy Willie a coat. At least no snow...so far.

  8. Yes, my long nightmare is over!

Jeff, hopefully, we can drop down to Texas sometime and check out your new homestead.
Dave, have you guys made it back West? Been enjoying your "suspense blogs"!

Steve, it sounds like a sweet set up there in Yuma and no tornadoes. Also, happy birthday, fellow old fart!

    Go Pack!!

  9. Well, the prodigal returns. Been out of the loop for a while and thought it's time to check in! Last year (July) we bought a condo here in the Iowa City area and as it happens, it was a good thing that we did. Many of you know the woes that we had with the Beaver. Two weeks in we were getting ready to put it on the market and downsize but keep moving around part-time. Going for some body work... turned the ignition and smoke came from the dash and all over. Not good. 12-volt system burned up and didn't get it back out of the shop till June 2018 and $20K poorer. Not a lot of motorhome buyers here in Iowa but was fortunate a few weeks ago to get a buyer to fly in from Washington. I no longer need anxiety meds. Although, I still get a bit nauseous when I see a MH!
It took some getting used to the S&B lifestyle but, as Jeff was saying, we're finding things to do. The next step is to find a truck/trailer and "keep it simple".
Glad to hear that the ol' gang is generally doing well and hope to see you all again down the road soon!

Roger, have you ever considered opening a RV repair shop.  You probably have more experience than most owners.  There is a  Beaver parked two rigs down from ours and that guy had a bunch of trouble with his too.  So it not "just you"!!

Please pass along my sympathies to this poor soul...R

  11. Tina & Jeff, you've really outdone your rain makin' talents this time. Hope that you are both okay and hanging in there. Let us know when you can on how it's going down there in Texas. Good thing they hadn't broken ground on your house. It would be a swimming pool of mud and water by the sounds of it!

Good old motorhomes, always ready to try you for some reason.  We are currently camped at a fairgrounds, and the annual fair is coming up.  Well, we were in a section that you can't be in when the fair rolls around, so we had to move.  As we were moving the bus, I had the dash air turned on to make sure everything is working ok, well it was 99 degrees too.  When I was backing into the new spot, all of a sudden I realized the dash air quit.  Hmmm, must be a blown fuse.  I tried it a few more times while settling the motor home and figured I'd wait a couple of days and then find out where the fuse was and replace it.  Today was the day to look for the fuse and I just turned on the system to see if anything had changed.  Of course it worked fine!!  I ran it for the better part of an hour and it was still working fine when I gave up and shut it off.  Was I dreaming the other day when nothing would work??  Well, we are getting ready to head for Colorado in a couple of weeks, so that will make or break the system for sure.  Just another adventure!!

Just a guess Steve but, do ya suppose it could have something to do with your "flux capacitor"?

We are really slowing down with the RV. After 2 weeks in a COE park we are in a "Resort" now until Oct. 1. Will move to our winter park then. It's about 40 miles from here along the Guadalupe River. We are just south of Jonson City, TX.

The clearing of the land for the house build should start in a month and hopefully it will be complete by April.

Looks like we will get our first taste of a tropical storm this weekend. Predicting a lot of rain.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff

Ah, that crazy Gulf weather... Stay high and dry my friends!

Nice talking to you the other day and am glad you are still mostly sane after all of this!  I did say mostly didn't I...

We made it back from our Alaska trip and If you would have been in a plane as long as we were, even a broken down bus would be an improvement.  In order to get a good price on tickets we had to go from OKC through Atlanta, to get to Anchorage!!  And the planes keep getting smaller (or I'm getting bigger)!!  I just have a hard time getting shoe horned into a small space for such a long time.  Kind of like an MRI I guess.  We did have a nice time in Homer Alaska at Carol's brothers new place, and brought back a cooler full of halibut to show for it.  He has a nice 26' fishing boat with an enclosed cabin so it was a lot of fun.  I had the weak arm, but still managed to get a nice 30#er in the boat, without tearing anything up.  Now if we were just in Q this weekend we could have a Halibut night!!  Now all I have to do is get through dental implant surgery and eye surgery this week and I can rest for a while.  I was a nice break in the weather going from 100 degrees in OKC to low 60's in Homer, and seeing Carol's brother and his wife in their new digs.  It is about a 5 hour drive from Anchorage to Homer and it is a pretty one.  I'm glad we took all the pictures on the way down, because on the way back it was raining and we couldn't see anything.

All this typing has made me tired so I must take a Steve. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It was good talking to you and Carol too, Steve. However, I don't think that I've ever been accused of being "mostly sane"...ha! Good luck on your surgeries...I may have to start referring to you as "Frankensteve"!!
