  1. We went to Pismo Beach,CA. There is or was at the time an RV Park and we got there before 4 pm. the place was packed full not even enough room to put out our awning. We canceled our reservation, (Called them on the cellphone) didn't even pill in the place. They charged our credit card I believe it was $65.00 bucks. $45.00 for the spot and a cancelation fee of $20.00 because we didn't cancel 48hrs. in advance. I can't remember the name of the place, but we fund a really nice place across the street from them for $45.00 a day, and got a discount for being "Old Farts" (AARP members) and then we got a discount at a restaurant up by HWY 101 because we were staying at that campground. That was almost 9 years ago.

  2. I have an '87 Wrangler with an automatic. Just put the transfer case in neutral leave the transmission in park. I also have to unlock the steering column but I don't think the new ones are that way. Shop around before you buy.

My Jeep Wrangler is a 2006 automatic and its towable 4 down. Both the manual & auto are towable, since its the 4x4 transfer case neutral that allows it. some minor difference by model year, but in general, all the Wrangler 4x4's are towable.

Thank you very much, for the quick reply. Now it's no longer clear as Mud. (my question)

I called the local Jeep Dealer thinking it was still McCune Chrysler Jeep Dodge I guess they finally sold out. They were in the same location for over 50 years. Any Way they are now called Perry Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram the sale man I talked to would not answer my questions when I told him I was going to buy a Jeep in a couple of months he wanted my SS Number and any other info he could get to get me pre approved in their credit department. To top it off when I kept asking the question I wanted to know he became dumber than the two guy's in the movie Dumb and Dumber! or to explain it more clearly he seemed dumber than a rock!

  3. Do any of you fine folks own a Jeep Wrangler with an Automatic Trans as a Toad?

I am looking to get a Jeep as a toad. Being as my DW can't drive a Stick Shift, due to knee problems, and I do not want to, after driving a Semi for over 30 years. Are the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon's with Automatic capable for 4 down towing. I tried to look at te owners manual online but I'mnot going to spend money to look at one on line. Calling the dealer is no help all they want to do is sell you something you don't want. I saw a used one for $48000.00 (2011)@Carmax, if I'm going to spend that I buy a new one.

  4. As one Go-fer checking in, welcome to our motely crew. The Chief has spoken, and we all snap into line. Snap, welllll saunter, drag, crawl or trip into line. What line? Oh you get it, we're classless so there you have it. The main thing is get out here and enjoy the adventure. BessyBus got us back to Oklahoma today in the 102 degree heat while running at 187degrees and cruising like a champ. Now we are parked at the Shawnee fairgrounds, and enjoying FHU's with some shade and satellite view to the south. Doesn't get any better than that. Now with two new A/C units, she even tamed the 102 temps and made it livable inside. We should be out of here on Thursday or Friday, if we can get Carol's tooth issue taken care of, so I guess a few more days in the "hot seat" won't be tooooo bad. At least they won't have to send our mail out this time. :D Oh well, drove all day and time to take a Steve (for the uninitiated, that means a BIG nap), Hmmmmm ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Good lord what did I do, Join the Corps again. God Forbid............ OOHRah.

  5. Welcome aboard, anyone is welcome to chat with us here on the forum. They even talk to me? Check in regularly so you can catch on to some of our code talk. Or was that nonsense talk? We joke with each other a lot here. And report all our happening and non happenings and just about anything we can think of. The real value outside of just good friends is our private web site. Which you'll be given a password for after you meet with us at our winter gathering usually in Quartzsite, AZ and usually in January or February. On that site we can find where each member is. The city, state, Campground and site number. That enables us to meet up for a chat or dinner whenever our paths cross all year long. We are all on a first name basis so it would help if you use your first names a few times while posting. I'm either Lee or IYQ and will even respond to the old man. Let us know where you live now and any progress you make in getting ready to full time. We've all been through the process and some of us multiple times. We might even come up with a trick or two to make it easier. We have no officers or leaders we make decisions by taking a consensus here on the forum. Jeri ( wandering) and Sandie were the class leaders before we became "classless" I think they got tired of herding cats and gave up. I better cut this short before I talk you out of joining us. Jump in with both feet and enjoy the group. Lee

  6. Sitting around the campfire last night here in Q, a discussion was had about the fact that our group is no longer the Classes of 2008 and 2009. We now have members from 2010, 2011, and 2012.

A couple of the folks from the Class of 2012 commented that they had felt hesitant to post on the Class of 2008/2009 thread because they felt like they were intruding. Because of that we decided to start a new thread - The Class-less Class. Double meaning intended for some of the group - and you know who you are!!

This year we have 20 rigs parked out here in the desert and a lot of knowledge and stories have been swapped around the campfires. We want to continue that camaraderie in the future with the Class of 2013 and beyond.

Please let me know what you think of this idea. How about the name of the thread? Any input is greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the new thread.

I was looking thru the Forum here, and stumbled on this thread. My DW aka "She Who Must be Obeyed" would like to go full time soon. We wanted to be part of the 2013 class but that didn't work out. So maybe soon we will be able to make the trip to the "Q" next January or February. Right now we have some complications from health that we are dealing with, but that will get better soon. DW had TKR surgery in June.
