  1. South Texas Outdoor HOP (The Headout Program) April 3-9, 2022 South Texas is rich with grasslands, lakes, and rivers, making this a prime area for several migrating animal species. Although birds are the highest-profile migratory species in South Texas, which makes this area a mecca for bird watchers, there are also javelinas, bobcats, ocelots, sea turtles, bats and butterflies migrating through Texas and you will see some on the tours. In April, it reaches a fever pitch with the most significant numbers and various migrating birds. Some of the well-known birds that will arrive are Hummingbirds, Warblers, Swallows, Buntings, Cuckoos, Hawks, Orioles, Thrushes, Flycatchers, Woodpeckers, the Yellow-headed Blackbird, Green Jays and Waterfowl, to name a few. Enjoy nature-guided tours, walking trails and learn what animals live and migrate through Texas. Several of the tours, including lunch, will be on South Padre Island so, grab your binoculars and a camera for those breathtaking nature shots! Escapees has a fun-filled time lined up for you at the South Texas Outdoor HOP. Registration includes: 6 nights/5 fun-filled days Full hookups at a nice RV park A private gathering room, in case of inclement weather Admission into National and State parks Admission to guided and unguided tours at sea turtles’, butterflies, bobcats, ocelots, alligator’s wildlife refuges and sanctuaries Spending a day in South Padre Island includes lunch. This HOP includes a considerable amount of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. *Special dietary requests cannot be accommodated. These precautions may include measures such as requiring wearing of masks in certain situations, requiring social distancing, avoiding indoor group activities, limiting carpooling, and/or limiting activities that include sharing of food. In addition to the above, you may be required to agree in writing that you will help provide a safe environment for everyone by complying with our health and safety rules, and to release Escapees from liability should you become ill during or after the event. We also recommend that you be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least two weeks before attending this event.
