Classes of 2008 and 2009

Recommended Posts

Wow, I forgot about the website upgrade going on. When i logged on I thought I went to the wrong site :o I need to pay more attention I guess.

I went by the old house today to do the laundry, and all the shingles for the new roof are there. I guess they are starting tomorrow. No rain predicted for the next four days, so that should work out about right. looks like everything is still on track for a closing on April 8th, a week from Friday. It's getting hard to walk around with my toes crossed, but I'm managing. The trees are starting to leaf out, and grass is starting to grow, so the place will look a lot better in a few weeks. I will relinquish the lawn mowing duties in a heartbeat! Steve

I'm not so sure I like this new look. It's a little hard for me to read. I'm sure I'll get used to it someday.

I went to Town today and got a few needed items and a few not so needed items. I should be set for the week at least. After returning to my Rig I pulled a Steve and had a nice long ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ then got up and went to a small restaurant in Arrey, NM about 4 mile south of here. I was much surprized it was very good. It has a fairly large menu of both American and Mexican dishes. I'll have to repeat on that place.

Okay everybody - we're going to give this a try. I want to combine the Classes of 2008/2009 forum threads into one thread. We all seem to post back and forth on both of them now so this should make it easier for us and we ony have to post info once.

Let me know what you think of the name. Change it? Any suggestions welcome.

And everybody else out there reading this - even if you aren't from the Class of 2008 or 2009 please join in. We would love to hear from anyone who may be close to us so we can get together.

Sandie

Works for me.

We have had an uneventful trip across Texas and should be pulling into Livingston sometime tomorrow. Found out all of the Escapee parks (Not the coops) are extending their pay for 15 stay for 20 days. Now you get 8 days free. Also if you want to pay for 30 days you get an additional 20 days. This is to offset the price of gas. We should be leaving Livingston around the 17th but will still go ahead and pay for 15.

Took a nice long walk this morning then sat around the rest of the day doing nothing. I'm getting very good at that. It got up to 91 today. No wonder I did nothing. B)

I found my way back. I don't have a clue how I got lost in the forums the other day.

Today completed the 3rd day of installing a propane tank. One of those days was pretty much lost due to a malfunctioning Ditch Witch. But we're done now. I'm sort of tired from all that supervising. I did manage to learn not to stand down wind from a Ditch Witch. Now all I'm waiting for is the permit for the septic.

Guess so!! Pretty bad when you are glad to see Diesel under $4. It's been running around 3.89 pretty much everywhere, except of course CA where it was almost $4.50 a gallon. We did make it in and out of CA without having to get fuel!!

Nice and cool here with a bit of LIQUID Sunshine happening. :P

Joe

Well, no liquid stuff here but lots of sunshine. Temperature climbing into the low 100's, perhaps. Obviously, that's not my cup of tea. I wish they would hurry up and get the Jeep fixed so we could flee.

Nice day in Oklahoma today. High will be 79 with no wind and clear Skies. Diesel here at the casino today is $3.70 so I may just top off the tank. A gallon of ice cream is still free if you take it by the cup :D

So far the house closing is still on track. T - 7 and counting! The roofers will start on Monday, so they should get everything done by closing which should be next Friday. Toes are getting cramped, but still holding out OK. Steve

Hey Steve, pay attention when they do the tear off. Even though my roofing company used a magnet to pick up stray nails, I was still finding nails almost 6 months later. Bessie would not be a happy bus!

Hey Dave what is the altitude at your place, The web says it's only 4741 at Bernardo but I understand your 8 miles up the hill.

Went to the big metropolis of ARREY, NM today and got gas ($3.58 per) Then went to the Post Office to get my 1040 ES mailed and the Post mistress was out to lunch so I waited around for her and got it Certified and sent. This morning I took a 2 mile walk up hill to the road that goes across the Dam. I got a little warm but faired OK otherwise. It's 94 degrees right now and I'm HOT. If it keeps this up I may be heading north sooner than I had expected.

Lee, according to Google Earth, it's 5046 at my lot. I know coming from Quartzsite it takes me a day or two to become acclimated. As far as the heat. Be patient, one more day of hot then it is predicted to drop 20*. Of course there will also be wind! :D

BessyBus is about 15 miles from there and if the nails get this far we had better all duck!

April 2- 4 Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in Crystal River, FL. Nice park with large spaces. Activities looked to be numerous over the winter months but not now since snowbirds are leaving. A bit rustic and wooded but pleasant. We went to Homosassa Springs State Park and that was really nice. A bit pricey for grass sites but we got here after April 1st so price went down a little.

More 90+ weather today. I took my walk early while it was still cool then had a Steve-esta this afternoon. I'm thinking maybe I should head up hill about a thousand feet but I'm sure if I did it would drop down into the teens and twenties. If I left hear today and traveled 100 miles a week that would put me in Rapid City SD in mid June and that's when I want to get there. But I'll bet I'd do some shivering between here and there. It's been fine here until a little after noon each day but then it gets hotter than I care to be. Oh Well, I'll catch on to this full timeing stuff one of these days.
