JoeandMarcia
Gerg; I really hope they FIX it right and you and Jean get to enjoy it for a long time. The etch-a-sketch got shook up a bit today, Homestead FL passed a law against "overnight parking" in the entire town which blew our plans to wally dock there tonight. We pushed it (because we got a really late start) all the way to KW, with a stop at 6PM to watch the KY SC ball game in Marathon Key. Plan on being here two weeks, and maybe until March orApril. The weather is perfect, high around 83 and low about 74. My king of temps....... froggi
We are still in MD but not for long. Stu is getting three weekly injections in his knee in an attempt to delay surgery. We plan to be on the road to TN by the end of this month, spend a month in Jamestown (TN) before heading to FL. We will take our time going through GA, visiting some family & friends before hitting Bushnell for whatever is left of December. Not sure where we will spend Jan-Mar, but will be somewhere in FL...LOL! JoeandMarcia
Hey David, we have FHUs, the camp host said they didn't get really busy until Dec. and we could most likely stay in the same spot until then. She said it does get busy for Fantasy Fest, but then it clears out until Dec. We are almost last if they do have to start the rotations so a lot would have to come in for Fantasy Fest for us to have to move. We sure could use some "class of 07" help down here, I'm sure there will be more SKP's show up. Now it is Dan and Sandy and us as far as I know. lelandschliep
Tonight we are in the parking lot of Roadmaster Inc. in Vancouver Wa. Tomorrow at 7 a.m. we will have our new "Even brake" installed in the care. We got some good news today when we had the motor home brakes installed and they didn't need any work. cool. Our old Brake Pro aux brake unit broke last spring and we tried to get Roadmaster to fix it but they don't repair them anymore. The said they would replace it with the new Even Brake unit for half price. I thought, wow - save some money! Why not? Well, my bargain on the brake unit turns out to be a non deal. Their half price is $850. Well guess what? I just saw the exact same unit down at Camping World (a place not noted for low prices) at $829… I’m going to mention this in the morning, you can just be assured! GRrrrrrrr. Once we get this done we will go to an airplane museum just south of here and then out to the coast for some fresh Tillamook Cheese. None fresher than at the place they make it right. With my luck lately it's probably imported from China. leland Leland & Cathy
bobofthenorth
Just pay close attention to the cheese pricing in the factory Leland. Last winter we enjoyed touring the plant but found we could buy the same cheese for less money a few hundred yards down the highway (at Fred Meyer I think but it might have been Safeway). They do have good ice cream cones there though. I am not a Tillamook fan since they did a dirty deed on the Bandon Cheese Factory down the road. Bandon Cheese Factory was one of the historic cheeses on the west coast and the historic drawing point for Bandon Oregon. When Tillamook was buying them out they assured the town and the Chamber of Commerce that they would preserve the site and just cut out "some" of the cheese production. The minute they owned it, the bulldozer showed up and leveled the whole place and made a paved parking lot out of it all. steve & sandy
Leland & Cathy Are you going to the Air Museum @ McMinnville where the Spruce Goose is housed. We were there in Jan of 2007. Really enjoyed the museum & they were in the process adding on the Space section. We plan to stop there on our way south. Probably in November. Right now were @ the Tulalip Casino for some family things in the area (granddaughter turned 18 yesterday) Then will go back north to Oak Harbor for a while before we can go south. Carolyn Wilkerson
I'm parked at my "favorite" local moho repair shop in Phoenix, OR, tonight, waiting for a new circuit board to come overnight from Indiana! Grrrr! This is after a long, long list of repairs done in September. BUT, they assure me that I'll be on the road tomorrow afternoon after my last MD appointment. I'm wintering in Monterey, CA, volunteering at campground at Laguna Seca Raceway, Monterey County Parks, at least Nov-January. Hopefully, after that I will head for NM. Have applied to volunteer with NM State Parks, moving from south to north as the temps rise. Safe travels, everyone! nana25k
Carolyn, Seems that this is the year for our class to have custody of the repair gremlin and we need to pass him along to the class of 2008. We just had to replace 2 tie rods on the truck....GRRRRRRR. Sorry to hear you are having yet another fix it done but hope that you will soon be at your winter volunteer gig. We are glad you are back on the road. Our goal is to be slides in and rolling on Monday, Tuesday at the latest!!! lelandschliep
We are away from the repair facilities of convenience so no more break down stuff! OK. We landed at Spirit Mountain Casino. Nice, fairly level paved lot with stirped slots. Free for 72 hours. Cool. Now on to the 6 restraunts and the easy slots they promise! BTW we had a great day at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum. marty cassidy
I'm at the Raccoon Valley SKP park just hanging for a several days while I tour the area and see the colors. The park is almost full. I spent two nights in the one (1) dry-camping spot here, but pulled forward into a hookup spot to escape the bombardments of acorns and get some sun on my panels. One acorn from 30 feet landing on a skylight will certainly get your attention.... 2007 Arctic Fox Fifth Wheel 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Green)
