We finally got  a bit of snow in Oklahoma. I asked for 3 inches the Sunday before last and despite some melting today there is still at least that much on the ground.

I spent most of the day yesterday playing in the snow in the Jeep. First time for this one. Had hoped to do some winter driving lessons with the youngest, but she is preparing for a big event in New Orleans starting Saturday and didn't feel like she had "Time to play".

This morning it continued to flurry so I waited for the sun to come out to clean off the stairs. Didn't take a before photo, but was pleased with the after. L1QrrBHl.jpeg

Just imagine 5 to 6 inches of snow on those steps. Yes you could hardly tell there were steps except where I climbed them a few times yesterday. Being on the North side of the trailer they were never going to melt unless action was taken. I moved them into the sun after getting as much snow and ice off as possible. You can also see my a bit of my other activity. Sadly I don't own a Snow Shovel. My shovel is a "Spade/Shovel" with a rounded tip but a short blade. Had a bit of plastic that worked much better and did most of the movement as shown below.

The photo was taken at around 1500 hours so it's in the shade most of the day. I'm hoping when it freezes good tonight it firms up and stays around till the next snow and I can make it a bit larger. May borrow my daughters snow shovel for that one.  I should still have access to the compartment doors. My LP tanks are behind the front one, but I don't use all that much Propane. The furnace is set at it's lowest setting and it only turns on when the temp where the water pump and filters area located reach that temp. I have a fan venting into the "Basement" from where my old return air vent was for the original HVAC Unit was. The Mini Split is able to keep everything at my desired temperatures.

I have another experiment on the other side of the trailer that seems to have not done all that well, so far. Maybe with this addition it will do better and I'll share it too.

I always think before it gets cold that I need to put skirting up and then remember that I will also have to take it down too and either throw it away or find a way to keep it till the next time. What if there isn't a next time. Maybe next year I will go further South. Been saying that for going on 10 years now.
