Rover714 Posted January 6 Report Posted January 6 I recently did the change to 101 Rainbow Drive from 1xx Rainbow. After 12 years with a savings at Ally Bank they are saying 101 is a rv park and they will not continue without a physical address. To use 101 as mailing, a next of kin address can be used as a home address. I have no next of kin nor would I want to use an address in another state and open another can of worms even if they would accept a friend's address. They are not saying anything about a mail forewarding service, just the RV park. While Shwab and Capitol one have been mentioned here as taking issue, I have not seen Ally Bank mentioned. Hard to believe I am the only existing customer being rejected. Has anyone satisfied Ally without a next of kin or a physical address you do not own or are able to prove with utility bills? Are other online savings banks like Lending Club, Brio Direct accepting the address? If I give them 101 and Experian reports the old address I will not be able to find a new home for the Ally funds. This is not an inconvenience, it is proving to be a nightmare. Appreciate any input. Quote
Kirk W Posted January 6 Report Posted January 6 Since the mail service is now separate from the Escapees RV Club, I suggest that you contact the mail service to see if they can help. Here is the contact information, but I think it would probably be better to call them. As many people as have brought this up, they must be aware of the problems. If you do call them, would you be so kind as to post a summary of the response that you get? Rover714 Posted January 7 Author Report Posted January 7 Yes I spoke with them. There is no workaround other than a suggestion to use "unit" before box number which it is too late to do and would not change the RV Park status for the address. Quote
Kirk W Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Changing the term would not have worked anyhow as they use a database that tells them what is a commercial address and what is a residential one. The law does have an alternative for one to list an address of a relative who will always know where you are, but I do not remember the legal reference. You may be able to get some help from the club office as they used to help with such problems, back when the mail forwarding and the RV club were the same organization. I have not heard of anyone who had contacted the club about that issue, since the divorce of the two. Keep us posted as even though you may be the first on the forum with your bank, you are not the first to have that problem. mail: clubbusiness@escapees.com Phone: 833-224-6267 Hours: Mon-Fri 9:00AM - 5:00PM Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Rover714 Posted Friday at 05:50 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 05:50 PM I also am wondering about the change concerning Social Security Admin. The local office where I presently am is by appointment only and when I called to schedule, they referred me to a Texas office. So should I call that office to make the address change, call the National Service Number, or try to visit another office in a nearby town? Which has been sucessful for you folks? Quote
