Formatting cards

I've recently received a couple of new additions to my Tech stuff.

Initially I was looking for a replacement camera for my motorcycle and found a person on You Tube doing a test of multiple units. When I decided to order one I also found one for "Trucks & RV's" that included 4 cameras and a 10 inch display that also would link with Android Auto and CarPlay. I ordered both and after a month they are here. The reviewer suggested purchasing "Better" Micro cards and the motorcycle unit he reviewed did not have a card included. (Mine did). But anyway I bought two new cards a few days ago and put one in the computer a little bit ago to "Format" it.

I got the Samsung card because it has a USB device to hold the card where most of my previous cards included an "Adaptor" for the larger card slot. (Which I no longer have on my PC). I plugged the device in this morning and hit the "Quick Format" and in seconds it was done. I then thought about unchecking the "Quick" box and do a full format. Took a long time to complete and when I removed the card it was quite warm. I'm getting ready to do the second card using the same adaptor, but will do only the "Quick Format" and test the temperature. I will be using the cards in different devices so I really cannot do a use comparison.

Just checked and the USB adaptor is cool to touch now. As I expected the devices are still cool to touch.

I use one of these SD card adapter USBA and C SD and MIcro SD adpter so I can do SD Cards easier. I usually format to FAT32 which is more universally readable rather than FAT or NTFS which is only for PCs.

It's a quite nice day outside today where I am and I thought I'd work on installing the device. Wrong. Can't seem to find a good place to put the 10 inch screen and the mounting options on it are very limited and the dash space on my Volvo doesn't mesh with it at all.

Above is the mounting option supplied. It looks like I could get some "Ram" components that might fit into the bracket on the back of the screen.

Second issue is the card I purchased would not load so I just installed the small card that came with it for now.

Of course it won't sync with the android only device that's in the dash. Not sure if I can trick it with the android phone or not, to get my music to be played through the truck speakers and not the speakers in the unit.

Maps, Waze and Google maps all work very well and the screen seems very responsive. It came with 4 wired cameras, but I haven't even started with trying to decide where to place them. I thinks it will be much easier if at least two people. One to hold the camera in various places while another is looking at the views provide. I suppose you could put a long power wire on the screen and take it to all the places, but not sure how that would really work.

While the photo at the bottom is the old truck the one this is going into is the same brand, make and model. Just a year older.
