RV_
The Zero Day Initiative originally rated this Linux 5.15 in-kernel SMB server, ksmbd, bug a perfectly awful 10. Excerpt: "Just what every Linux system administrator wants just before the holidays: A serious Linux kernel security bug. The Zero Day Initiative (ZDI), a zero-day security research firm, announced a new Linux kernel security bug. This hole allows authenticated remote users to disclose sensitive information and run code on vulnerable Linux kernel versions." Dutch_12078
Thanks for the heads up, Derek. I have kernel 5.15.85 installed, as well as 6.0.14 and 6.0.15, so I'm not sure where I stand update wise since 5.15.85 is higher than the 5.15.61 fix recommended in the article. RV_
YW, I expect you to be up to date. I'm no longer a Linux user but am getting back into it with the new Mint/Cinnamon release. That is strange on the numbers. Perhaps going back with the fix to a more secure release rather than a patch? But don't "get me to lyin'" 😉 Quote RV/Derekhttp://www.rvroadie.com Email on the bottom of my website page.Retired AF 1971-1998 When you see a worthy man, endeavor to emulate him.
