ladder mounted flag pole

Id like to fly the flag of our great nation when i am parked in the most beautiful spots in the country.  i was going to buy the pole that has a plate you drive on, but i see the ladder mounted pole.  are these good?  will it rip the ladder off if its windy?

I use Flagpole Buddy ladder mounted flag poles and mounts.  I have used them on three separate RVs with no issues.  They are the best poles and ladder mounts I have found.  All the people I regularly camp with liked my set up so much, they have also gone with Flagpole Buddy for their Rv’s.

I bought the 16' fiberglass collapsable version from Flag Pole buddy.  I've only used it a couple of times and it has worked well in the light winds I've experienced.  I did end up buying a special american flag for it, due to the max size they recommeded.

I ended up with a 3' x 5' flag made by Annin ( I think its part number 002453)

I also got this, to mount it to the ladder in the back.

It's quite sturdy.  The bottom cup was a little large for the base of the pole, so I put my CNC to work to create a donut to make it a good fit for the pole.

talk about heavy duty. i like it. no money now, but in the future i will buy it, as metal is always better than plastic.

I think i like the plastic more. i am in the desert, if it gets too windy, i would rather the plastic break than the ladder be forcefully removed from the RV.

I'm not a mechanical engineer, but in my experience, the fiberglass pole would break long before the ladder would be forcefully removed while using the aluminum pole mount.

I guess it really depends on how solidly the ladder is mounted.

I agree there would be more stress on the mounts (both pole and ladder mounts) if the flag pole were made of aluminum.

could be true..... But. if a ladder can handle a 250 pound man it would take a very strong wind to break off the ladder.

and plastic tends to just fail a lot more than alu does.
