Flatman6
Hello all. I am brand new to the forum and I am looking for your wisdom. I'm an RV newbie and I just put a deposit down on a 2005 Winnebago Vectra 40AD with the ISL400. I have been poring over some of the pictures I took and noticed what I am concerned is a delamination. I'll be headed back to look in person this weekend, but wanted to see what you all thought? I'll attach 2 images. One is the original, the second is zoomed in on the area I'm worried about. After a couple of months searching we really fell in love with this coach, but I don't want to purchase something I will regret. The area I'm concerned about is midway down the driver's side above and below the light. Thanks for any input and sorry for the long post. rpsinc
Have you considered having it inspected? Perhaps an in-person evaluation by someone with the skill set to provide you with an educated opinion. Hard to tell you my opinion from my computer and while I would like to help, not sure I will venture that on a picture esp only 1 angle as the consequences could be significant for you. Kirk W
I very much agree with the previous reply. Unless you know RVs better than most of us you should have it professionally inspected by a certified pre-purchase RV inspector. A good one will take several hours and cost about $300 but could save you thousands. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... NDBirdman
Is it caused by glue failure, or water leak? Water leak, any water left untreated will start molding, rot the wood, turn to black mold (very bad), etc. It could be an easy, inexpensive repair or could cost a fortune. My suggestion, RUN! Second suggestion, follow the last couple posters, pay for a good inspection. IMHO, RUN! Quote 2022 Coachman Leprechaun, traveling around to dark sky areas and chasing the stars. Flatman6
So, I spoke to the sales person I was working with this morning and asked him to look personally. He got back to me and said no issue at all, just a reflection. I do trust him as much as I can with someone that stands to benefit from the sale, but we've been working with him for a while now and he tends to point out problems in the coaches we've looked at before showing us their benefits. I'm going to look myself tomorrow and I've also decided to have an inspection done. Do you have any outfits you recommend, either nationally, or here in the Phoenix area?
