Dometic Duo 5 button Thermostat Replacement

Recommended Posts

I have a 2005 5th wheel with two Dometic ACs.  It is controlled by a Dometic Duo 5 button (3310009.000) thermostat.  The unit is defective, I cannot access zone 2.  There are no direct replacements available.  Does any one know if I can substitute a different model?  It controls both ACs and the furnace.  Is there a way to just control zone 2 with a separate thermostat?

Thanks

How do I reset my Dometic 5 button thermostat?
  1. To RESET the Dometic 5 Button Thermostat:
  2. Press and Hold in the top and bottom buttons,
  3. Turn ON the bottom On/Off switch.
  4. FF will appear, release the buttons.
  5. IF EE appears, there is a fault with the communication cable.

It would appear that Amazon has a replacement?

A few things to do before a full replacement with new pc board in ac unit.

Unplug the connector on the back of the thermostat. And plug it back in. I would suggest then to cut the plug end off and replace it. Now when you do that you need to get the color code of wires in the same direction. I have solved several thermostat problems by doing that.

Now on my 5 button unit the zone one furnace has quit after 17 years. I installed a new thermostat. It did not work. I also cut the plug off and that did not work. So my next move will be to go to the a/c unit and remove the communication cable and replace that end. If that does not work I will either swap pc boards from the front Ac to the rear Ac. Or install another pc board.

I have been doing rv repair since 2008. And only ever replaced maybe two 5 button thermostat.

I tried to give one away a few years ago. Finally threw it away. They give little trouble. I did fix a issue like yours when I had my DRV by going to ac that didn't work and simply unplug and replug thermostat wire.
