Recommended Posts

My awning is up. Won't come down. Control will attempt to roll up, is up, but do nothing down. DW stated didn't want to go up when it did. Any tips?

Need to ad, went up on ladder, front of awning, near pin area, will pull out easily by hand. And roll back so spring is good. End at door is locked in place. Cannot move it at all by hand. So problem there. Don't want to damage it so how to get it to move?

Think I found awning problem. We traveled too far and we're very tired when we got here. I leveled Teton with jacks instead of wheels. Didn't get level but livable. Noticed awning arms are cocked. One that moves by hand and is not even lined up with arms. We pulling out in a few days

Ok. Now in very level spot all set up. Awning will not go out. I have wind sensor air speed setting led flashing and led beside it flashing. Awing will try to go in even with it in. Box will click inside. When out is selected no sound from box. Tried to disable windspeed sensor bit no difference.

Try disconnecting the power to the awning and controls for a minute and reconnect.

Ken

did that. Going to unplug motor and wire to a battery next. That control box is just over a year old.

Ok now. Figured correct way to turn wind sensor off. Ran it out with battery and hooked back up box. Steady green light like it supposed to be. Run in with controls and all fine. Soon as I try to run out get blinking lights. Got booklet out and read up on disable wind sensor. Did that and works now.

Well won't work with stock converter either. I replaced the controller unit a year or so ago. Of remember correctly like $400.00. Now motor runs fine off a a cordless drill 12v battery. So new unit bad. We never really need the wind sensor as we never leave it out unless we home. Is there a reversing switch I can replace with and just do away with the controller?

All depends on the wiring between the switch and controller location. As you know from using the drill battery, reversing the leads to the motor reverses direction. Use this for an example:

This will only work if you have 4 wires available at the switch location. If you have less, you will need relays to make it work.

I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again.

Ok my switch is 3 wires. It is a failed relay on my controller. It comes in but not out. Hear relay click on in. No click on out. So can you supply an example using relay? No experience on this. But for the dpdt switch I just need one extra wire. Wonder of I can fish one in? If wires are loose I could tie to and pull.

Also ran awning completely out by hand. No resistance at all. Motor just spins so gear on end must be stripped out. Think torsion spring is broke also. Just ty wraped it up for now.
