Actually they have had several summers in a row where it has been warmer than usual.  And the ocean water is getting warmer all the way up the West Coast, so it wouldn't take much to trigger a kill, plus increased temperature would have caused a lot of dissolved oxygen in shallower bays to dissipate.  We have had 5 straight weeks with no rain and NOW are moving into the warm, dry months of July and August.   There are watering bans in every town we have been in the past few weeks.  And, of course, burn bans all over the state as the fire danger is high.

Mean while, Dallas, TX has not yet seen 100° even though it usually sees the first 100° day in mid June. and rainfall is running far above typical in past history, although both have been trending that way for several years.

Colorado maybe a perfect example of how different parts of the country are in different weather patterns.  The East slope is nearly drought free while on the other side of the continental divide, the West slope is in a mega drought.

Yep the Springs is more like when we were here in 1978-1981 again, where in summer it rains almost every afternoon around 3-5 and then the sun comes out again. But the first two years after we moved back, 2019 and 2020, were sunny daily and we had maybe a very light rain once a month. If we can just keep this pattern it would be perfect were it not for the smog haze from the wildfire smoke from adjoining areas and our western half of the state, and the occasional crazy hail. Our sod from last year and new backyard seeding are doing great with little watering from our sprinkler systems after they were established. Regardless we are always looking at trends and places we might like to move next, if we decide we want to, or like the South getting hotter in summer beyond what we can stand, this area goes sour too. No telling because our local climate change, like a roulette wheel, is still in spin. And those RVrs still full time can follow the seasons. And big data is showing which localized hot-spots/cold-spots are trending up and/or down in temps. We lived in Germany for seven years and never saw floods like these in 1990-1997 in our area right where Germany, Belgium, and France, meet, and very close to the Netherlands.

I think we are in for some shocking weather around the world in the coming decades based on the ramp up of wild weather, tides, and changes in the Gulf Stream etc. Winds and tides will soon be even more radical as moon wobble comes more into play.

Funny since Austin has had the higher temps already.
