Twotoes
I am at Teddy Roosevelt NP in ND and will be heading to Wind Cave NP in SD in a few weeks. According to my map the best route is Hwy 85 south to Spearfish and then I-90 to Rapid City, 16 south to Custer and 385 to Wind Cave. Anyone ever used this route? Kirk W
If I am looking at your route right, you would follow US16 to Three Forks, then follow US385 through Hill City, Custer, and on to Jewel Cave? That would probably be the preferred route. I have been over that route and consider it good, but it has been several years now. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... agesilaus
We took 85 south, it's a good two lane highway, we stopped near Amidon to boondock at the burning coal vein site, OK spot but no burning in progress.
solo318
We were in Custer last year and drove all except the 385 leg. the roads were fantastic. We are actually heading back out there next month. Enjoy the drive. Quote Click For Full-Size Image.
