bigjim
Where I volunteer a lot we were already wearing masks a lot because of Hanta-virus and just plain dust. There is some plague in this area rarely but I don't know if the mask offer any protection from plague. I am parked so close to a concrete plant that also is quarring the rock most to the time 24/7 I should sleep with a mask on.

In the park we are in, a husband and wife got COVID. It was rough but she got over it. He wound up in the hospital and dies about 2 weeks ago. Another couple both got COVID and had a few days in the hospital. They are still both on portable oxygen. There have been a few other milder cases. These are the folks that were not social distancing with big outside gatherings and seldom wore a mask. So this hoax sure get lots of folks sick.... Ken Well Ken you can't fix stupid and all the mandates or restrictions will make no difference to sum but on the other hand us that are using caution and common sense should be made to suffer and have our rights trampled on and business destroyed, I want the least amount of government in my life. From a year ago till now I'm guessing close to 50% of the population has been exposed and have buildup some immunity to it on their own witch is better a vaccine IMO. bruce t
Masks are no big deal in many countries. They often wear them in place such as Japan. So IMHO no big deal if you choose to wear one. Question though. What about banks etc that require you to smile at the security camera. Come to think of it all security cameras. The bad guys will just love wearing masks. The casinos have you stop at the entrance security station, lower your mask so they can take a photo - I understand they use face recognition software to stop banned people from slipping in. It’ll be interesting to see how banks handle it all.

Why would you expect anyone to get something right the first time? First impressions of people can be wrong and you have lots of experience judging people. How many foods did you dislike at 10 that are now favorites? Why did it take years to create an airplane, since there were already scientists and engineers in the 1800s? Edison wanted DC, he got it wrong, but no one cares today. Two things we have learned this flu season, wearing masks, washing hands, and distancing, of children resulted in very low levels of flu throughout the country. With the flu, children are the most efficient vectors of transmission. Watch the rates of infection go up in Texas starting in about 2 weeks. It will not be pretty.
