Electric landing gear on on horse trailer.

Recommended Posts

Had a friend call me that he had just bought a big horse trailer and when he went to disconnect from the truck he couldn't get the gear down.  Mine are hydraulic so I wasn't much help.  He said the battery's are brand new.  He didn't see a place to crank them down manually.  Could he find a place where he could stick a drill motor???  Said he didn't see any where to use a drill.  Anybody out there care to enlighten us.

On the Lippert electric jacks there is a spot on both the top and the bottom of the jack motor to put a socket on and then crank the jack up or down (using a drill works best) depending on which way you turn it.  It might help to know what brand jack she has or post a picture of the jack.

If I recall correctly, on my 5er, open the port side propane bottle storage compartment. There is a hole on the inside wall level with the jack motor. Insert crank handle here if you have one.
