lakejumper
I recently upgraded to the Genie DVR in my home. Can I take the main DVR receiver to the motorhome and use it with the Winegard G2 Carryout? I know that I would only get Standard TV, not HDTV if it works. docj
The Genie is a SWM-only receiver. The Winegard G2 is a "non-SWM" device, but it is relatively easy to convert it to SWM. I believe the G2 has two coax outputs. All you have to do is connect both of those to a SWM8 switch and add a PI-29 power inserter. Use the diagram on page 5 of this document and you should be fine: Guide for using Winegard antennas with SWM Quote Sandie & Joel 2000 40' Beaver Patriot Thunder Princeton--425 HP/1550 ft-lbs CAT C-12 2014 Honda CR-V AWD EX-L with ReadyBrute tow bar/brake systemWiFiRanger Ambassador Follow our adventures on Facebook at Weiss Travels

FWIW the parts can be bought on Amazon for less than Winegard sells them for, Quote Sandie & Joel 2000 40' Beaver Patriot Thunder Princeton--425 HP/1550 ft-lbs CAT C-12 2014 Honda CR-V AWD EX-L with ReadyBrute tow bar/brake systemWiFiRanger Ambassador Follow our adventures on Facebook at Weiss Travels
