GlennWest
Had no good way for tool storage. So yesterday went to Harbor freight and picked up a box. Nice box, fits in my truck box good. Top lifts up to release lock on trays. So for now I have trays out a little and not locked. I close door to box so this not a big deal. I thought I could pick up a slideout to install under it. This would allow me to use top section and lock trays. When I googgle "slideout" I get mostly rv room slideouts. I could build one I reckon. rpsinc
I am working on this very issue. I bought a used Snap On road box with a top lid and front cover. I have a Stalick bed with a generator cabinet which is where I put the box, BUT, I have gas shocks on the doors of the cabinet and they interfere with the tool box cover which in turn wont let me open the tool box. So I have been looking for some slides designed for emergency or service vehicles and will do a 150% extension. My weight is projected at 800#, which with tools wont take long. I have run into many slides that will do 150% extension BUT not with that weight capacity. I have an existing slide in the cabinet for the generator, so I will bu using Extra HD slides and making my own 2nd slide to get that box out far enough. I need about 6" more than the existing 20" extension. The generator slides are sufficient but wont do the extra 50% I need. See Accuride slides or Google emergency vehicle drawers. Can also consider slides for RV pull outs and make your own tray. Wood or better yet, sheet metal. Quote Marcel
GlennWest
150% is really out there. I can do 100% and open box lid. all i need. Thanks for tip on seach. Found "SlideMaster". They are more money than I want to put in them. Do believe I can build that for a fraction of their price. Check out Accuride slides. I have used a creative idea for my battery box that would likely work too. I bought some track and rollers(nylon ones) for garage doors. Made a box for the batteries, used a bolt as a retainer to keep it from rolling around when stored, and then installed it. Works good and cheap. Could also use a channel as the track and some bearings for the rollers attached to a sheet metal tray. Weld a tab for the stop(dont want that thing taking off when you pull it out. Something like this is what I am considering(,https://www.accuride.com/products/drawer-slides/9308e-heavy-duty-full-extension-slide) but they have lots of options. Daveh
Yes I would do an internet search focused on heavy duty drawer slides. Some of those are rated quite high for lbs. Things get really expensive when you start to look at specialized premade equipment focused just on slideouts. I wish I had your skills Glenn. By the way. I got my 12,000 btu miniswplit installed yesterday. I am in love. Quote Dave and Lana Hasper

Bill w/bus
There are slides at 500# available.. A steel frame of 1.5" , 1/8 " angle iron, a plywood floor of 3/4" plywood and you have a fine pullout for toolboxes. Slides are cheap but worth the price. Mine have worked for 12 years. With a 200+# toolbox, a 2' long box for electrical tools and spare relays etc, a smaller box for plumbing tools and fittings, and finally a box loaded with drill bits for the load on the slides.
