Windtalker
We are full-timers and are staying most of the winter in the Georgetown, Texas area and I need to get two fogged-up windows on the driver's side of our 2015 Newmar Dutch Star 3736 replaced. I have several questions: 1. Is there somewhere I can purchase the fixed driver's side window and the glass above the driver's side windows, other than Newmar? Got a price from them (I have to buy the complete window assembly - glass not sold separately) and it will cost an arm and a leg with shipping. 2. Can anyone recommend a quality RV technician in the Georgetown/Austin area that can complete the replacement of the windows at a reasonable price, without tying up our rig for more than a day? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SWharton
Contact Duncan Glass 574-294-6852 They had no problems getting glass for us. Why don't you have the windows repaired, I think someone in FL??? AL??? does it, the same day.

Is there somewhere I can purchase the fixed driver's side window and the glass above the driver's side windows, other than Newmar? Look in the corners of your windows that are a problem and see who made them. The Hehr Co. seems to supply a major share of the dual pane windows in the RV industry and if so contact them. There are also several companies that will disassemble, clean, and reseal dual pane RV windows that have been mentioned on these forums. Suncoast Designers is a company that a friend used with good success, removing the windows and reinstalling them himself. Another company that I have heard good reports on is Coach Specialists, located in Waco, TX. They will remove and reinstall windows. 4 hours ago, Windtalker said: 2. RV windows are not at all difficult to remove and install if you have someone to help as you need a person both inside and outside. I have been involved in the removal to reseal windows on several RVs and it is much less difficult that most of us expect. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Al F
We had a foggy window repaired at ProRV in Dallas (actually near Grapevine). https://www.prorv.com/fog-window-repair/ We were passing though the Dallas area, spent the night at Walmart just a couple miles north of ProRV. We had an appointment for the next morning and pulled in a few minutes after 8am and were out that afternoon. We just stayed in the RV while they did the work. Or we could have left for the day. The cost was $300 for the big window in the entrance door next to the passenger chair at the front of the RV. There are RV parks in the area if you don't like spending the night at WM Edited November 14, 2019 by Al F Quote Al & Sharon 2006 Winnebago Journey 36G 2020 Chevy Colorado Toad San Antonio, TX http://downtheroadaroundthebend.blogspot.com/
docj
A day's drive east of Dallas is RV Fog Doctor in Searcy AR. We had four dual pane windows repaired by them a couple of months ago. They have 5 full-hookup sites where you can spend the night before or after. Work on our windows started at 8:30am and we were on the road by 1:30pm. Standard price is $200/window to fix both panes of glass in a typical 2-part sliding window. Very professional service and I would highly recommend. TXiceman
RV Fog Dr. will not repair the frameless dual pane windows. We had our done at Sun Coast Designers near Tampa, FL. They have water/50 amp hook ups and a dump for their customers. We just had them do 4 large multi-pane windows done in September. These ran a bit over $500 each window and the work was done very well with the lifetime guarantee. jblo
Kirk, Coach Specialists list only a 'Drop-Off' place in Waco--not sure what that means--phone # is the Mansfield shop. The shops are in Mansfield and Plano, was just at the Mansfield shop looking at a MH for sale. Edited November 26, 2019 by jblo
