Lots for sale Summerdale Alabama

Recommended Posts

I see a sign on the road next to Rainbow Plantation promoting Orchard RV Park "RV Lots for sale starting at 39,000". Call Kendall Wahlert (MLS #289032) for more info 706-575-8800. This is a great area, I like Rainbow Plantation and the escapee park here meets my needs for now. I saw lots in Orange Beach area for closer to 200K. I look out of curiosity, not in the market, but you know what they say.(I have no relationship with Kendall Wahlert or the developer).

(Orchard appears to be off to a slow start. But if the development is successful, this is a great place to call "home base").

Orchard is independent of the Escapee group. Rainbow Plantation has 30 folks on the waiting list for an ERPU site. They have had to abandon plans to add more sites (which were "plumbed in") due to a flooding issue at the Northern end of the park. This new park hasn't broken ground yet, just a sign up. There are 2 dog breeders adjacent to these parks - you can hear the dogs inside your RV (now), must be feeding time. :) I like the area...very close to Gulf Shores (great state park), Foley, Fairhope, and Robertsdale which has a camping world for supplies. The proximity to I-10 would make this a convenient home base from which to travel. Beautiful ranches all throughout the area. No snow. Cooler than much of Florida. Friendly folks!

Before I left Summerdale, I noticed they had some of the lots for sale with a $5,000 price reduction. ($35,000). I fell in love with this general area a few years ago when I first visited Rainbow Plantation. (Have been back twice since). You have Pensacola and Mobile nearby when you need a big city. The towns of Foley, Fairhope, Summerdale, Robertsdale, Gulf Shores have it all! The only way to go anywhere from the park is by car. (There is no way you could bike or walk safely along 28). That would deter me from considering the location for myself in the future. But most people drive everywhere anyway, so not a problem for most. Alabama is an under appreciated state in my opinion.

*Rainbow Plantation and the new private condo park are located in a rural area. Nearby residents do target practice so you hear a lot of shooting in the distance when they are active. I'd spend a month at Rainbow Plantation to check it all out before I bought anything in the area. There are also lots of barking dogs on 2 sides of the parks, mainly at feeding time.

I'm looking for a long term lot to either rent or own. The long term options with Escapees seem to have a long waiting list. I'm interested in Florida or perhaps Southern Alabama. Does anyone know of any good deals? Southern Alabama seems to offer some good deals. Is anyone familiar with Spanish Cove in Lilian, Alabama? I'm staying at Escapees Bushnell, Fl now and may head up to Summerdale next month.
