That circumvents part of the reason we have plates at all. SD will issue same Amateur Radio (Ham) FCC call sign plates for multiple vehicles registered to the same owner(s). rickeieio
Don't know if it's still true, but in 2005, I put together a Coast to Coast (C2C) ride for a certain model Honda motorcycle (CBX). We had 2 bikes join us in Kansas with the same vanity plate, just different county. Imurphy907
Dang, I have KL2BX as a license plate but I could only put it on one vehicle. I have seen multiple plates issued to a vehicle, just not multiple vehicles issued to a plate. Quote 2016 Road Warrior 420 2001 Volvo VNL 660 Alaska Based. Dutch_12078
Some years ago, we had identical NY vanity tags on our two vehicles. That is they were identical in appearance anyway. The name on the tags contained two O's (oh's), but one plate was registered with zero's instead of O's. The state used the same die to stamp an 'O' as they used for a '0', so there was no way to tell the plates apart. A few years later, we received a letter from the NY DMV telling us that the zero substitution was no longer allowed, and we had to turn in one set of plates. Since we were in the process of selling the property that the name related to, we decided to turn in both sets of plates in favor of the regular (and cheaper) luck of the draw number plates.
