Men created it by accident back in 1905. It has a really interesting history for those who want to read it. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... TherapyBound Posted February 10, 2019 Report Share Posted February 10, 2019 I recall visiting the Salton Sea back in the mid 1980s and it had just had a massive fish die-off. Reeked to high heaven, with rotting fish so thick on the sand you couldn't walk the shoreline, even if you'd wanted to. It was in incredibly bad shape then, too. Pam grew up in southern CA and remembers some friends of her parents who had a cabin on that lake that nobody would buy because the lake was so low. I think that was in the late 50's.
