Tucsontech
Thanks to all of you who shared ideas of places to see while in Texas for the month of February. Apparently the Hill Country is very popular. Are there any favorite routes or loops anyone might be able to share with us? It now appears that we will get to El Paso about January 20th giving us over 5 weeks there, so we are heading for the warmest places 1st. Any suggestions on that topic? Barbaraok
At Van Horn take US Highway 90 east towards Big Bend National Park. You can turn at either Alpine or Marathon to reach the park. Give yourself at least 5 days to really explore the park. That would be my suggestion for the first place to stop. If you enjoy that type of country, take the time to see the Big Bend Ranch State Park as well since it isn't that far away. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... whj469
The warmest place will likely be in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The weather in the Big Bend area can also be pleasant. Hope you enjoy the trip.
