So does it really seem like personal service when you call and ask what mail you have at 8:00 am. you ask if they could put it in mail today so you would have before friday. and they say NO, next day ONLY! you can send fedex for 10-30$! just needed to drop in mail at 8am so would have by friday........

but seeing they being A!!!! will just make other arrangements and let it go snail mail.....

says personnel service... guess that's okay if ya never need anything!!!!!

what's your opinion if ya call at 8am should you be able to get into the mailbox that day?

I have used the cheapest choice since I started and it has served me well. I know that the level of service is related to which level of service you elect and maybe that is a factor.  I haven't looked at what each level offers in years so when I am done with the forums I may look it up. If they started doing this I could see it turning into a landslide because to me my mail is as important as anyone else.

I am sorry you experienced this problem.  But with that said, this is a business that deals with thousands of mailboxes.  They need to plan and schedule pick ups and deliveries.  An entire semi of US Mail is picked up daily at a scheduled time.  We have never had a problem with our mail being scheduled for the next day.

My opinion is that I would never expect them to send out the mail the same day I called.  I have always given them at least one day's notice, if not more.

The Escapees Mail Service is a huge operation handling a LOT of mail each day.  As such, they need some lead time in order to package up the mail, make the mailing label, and do whatever else it is they have to do to get mail ready to send.

I find it interesting that your first post to these forums is to complain about the mailing service.

Obviously you have never seen the operation at Livingston.   Your problem isn't with the Escapee mail service, it is with your inability to plan accordingly for a time sensitive delivery.   I always request mail when I know that we have a week at one place - that insures that the package has time to get across the country and is waiting for my pickup.

If your mail is already in Livingston, what other arrangements are you making to get it sent to you as "snail mail"?  I don't understand what the problem is.

My opinion is someone needs to learn about how services operate and take responsibility for requesting said services in a timely fashion.

Problems problems everywhere.   Some years ago I had my new tags and title waiting at the tax office in a prepaid FEDEX envelope that the local contract driver (fedex) would not pick up because he did not understand their (fedex) own requirements.

Just over a year ago UPS would not deliver my medicine to the local post office even though they had a last mile deal with the post office. New guy didn't know what he was doing.

When I carried US mail some time folks would want their mail direct from the carrier and not wait to get it at their house.  Could not or would not accept that regulations required that it be delivered to their address. Some asked What could that hurt, you know me. Answer, if the post office wants to pursue it I could be suspended or maybe lose my job if I do it different. I like you but I don't like you that much.  Escapees has reasonble rules that they follow and I need to follow the ones that pertain to my side of the contract.  They have usually gone out of their way to be helpful up to a point. Fair enough to me since March 1997.

I hope you can adapt to the escapees mail system and I think you will mostly be happy.

I get that you are frustrated but in the scheme of things this is pretty small.  Somewhere in the past skp's tried a concierge type service that might have done that and some other stuff too but it wasn't free.  They may still offer it  but I don't know for sure and I never used it.  Sometimes they try new things but they don't always last.  The escapees email was supposed to be forever and I whined and bitched when it went away but eventually I realized it all has to be cost effective or  it will go away of necessity.
