I looks like spring is in the air, it has been tolerable to work in the shop the last few days and, I thought I would share a few pics.

The "bed" is kind of hard to visualize in the pictures.    The forward 4 foot section with the extended fairings is in place, the rear section behind the hitch is not on the truck.     The Trailer saver is not on the truck, it goes directly behind the front bed section, it is 32" long the rear bed sits behind the hitch.   The rear bed section has rails the connect to the forward bed outside of the hitch, these rails will define the deck once it is all together.    I am building the bed this way for access, each piece can be removed easily by a couple of people if needed.     The lower fairings will eventually be drawers, the rear body pieces will be shallow drawers with access to the stuff in the back, inverters, fresh water system etc.    The side fairings will be full extension drawers from the tanks to the rear fenders.

The rear body fairings behind the fenders will have the same look as the forward section once the bed is on, I also have some bed sides I am working on, they look kind of like a hauler or tow truck body with a taller forward section and low tails to the back of the bed.

I have a 25 gallon fresh water tank to mount below the frame at the rear, a 17 gallon gray tank on the drivers side just behind the fuel tank and a couple of inverters at the back, one small inverter for the fridge, one 1500 watt for micro or other high demand use.     The batteries are at the back of the frame and the inverters are ajacient to the batteries with AC wiring and remotes to the sleeper.

My water tanks arrived and, I got the right side fairings fitted.     The frame you see on the floor in the bottom pic is the rear bed, you can just see a bit of the water tank as well.

That is really looking good Steve. There is no better-looking truck in my mind than a 387, and you are just improving it's looks.  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!!

To get a better idea of the bed I mocked up the major pieces, not show are the fillers that span the gap between the forward and rear decks.     I am doing invisible work at the moment, water tank, rear bumper and body panel with a pintle hook and receiver tube.     I may be going a bit overboard on the pintle hitch mount, it designed at 30 tons with a 20 ton hook.    I do have a 17 ton trailer I will use once in awhile.

When I pull all the body work off, I will close the back of the fenders and add extensions to close out the wheel wells.     I want to keep as much road dirt as possible in the fenders.     I am still pondering some synthetic turf to line the fenders for spray mitigation.

The pink foam board is a mock up of bed sides, I am still working on the design, they will be staked into pockets on the bed for easy removal.     The higher segments on the sides are 4" below the bottom of the gooseneck on my trailer.

Starting to look more Beechcraft with each additional picture...........

I like that bed. Where is the water tank going to go?

The fresh water tank is under the rear deck, the gray tank is behind the left fuel tank.    Here are a few pics of the fresh tank getting mocked up, it is 25 gallons 34"x17"x10" The two vertical bars are the rear bumper/hitch mount in progress.
