Home of the Clydesdale Horses

and the

Antebellum Dixie Region HOP

June 2, 2018

After an incredible week of Escapade seminars and workshops, you may want to take a relaxing, fun-filled tour around the area.

Board a luxury coach with a local, knowledgeable tour guide and enjoy the beautiful sights of Missouri. Learn about the region’s rich history and modern day venues on this HOP.

This impressive behind-the-scenes tour begins with a visit to the state-of- the-art facilities where the Clydesdale’s are bred, raised, selected and trained to become the world famous Budweiser horses! Learn the history of these stately gentle giants, meet the horses and colts, and see the luxurious trailers in which they travel.

Along with the loving and notable Dalmatian dog, the Clydesdale teams are traditionally known for their appearances in the annual Tournament of Roses (The Rose Parade), in Pasadena, California and the half-time commercial during the Super Bowl. If the Rose Parade is on your bucket list, Escapees has the Rose Parade HOP each year. Watch for it on our website, sign up and go with us!

After a fascinating tour of the ranch, enjoy lunch at a historic hotel overlooking the Missouri River. Continuing with tours of a beautiful Queen Ann home, which is the Missouri state headquarters for the Daughters of the American Revelation and a tour of an 1848 Sheriff’s Jail and Hanging Barn.

Enjoy a narrated tour through Boonville, with stops at the monument honoring the end of the Boone’s Lick Trail and the beginning of the Santa Fe Trail. Learn about the migrating Southern farmers of the Antebellum-Dixie era, who moved into several of Missouri’s counties and, by 1860, the “Little Dixie” counties in Missouri had become a smaller scale of the South’s Antebellum style. These countries influenced Missouri’s agricultural and social conditions up until the Civil War.

Also, stop at a historic train depot and museum, where its history starts with the Lewis and Clark expedition and even features a rare, antique Mitchell automobile.
