Recently I saw the question posted on facebook, "Can I install a household shower head in an RV" The answer of course is yes. they both use standard pipe fittings as well as the faucets in the kitchen and bathroom. I decided to get a shower head that is not labeled for RV use and see what happens. I was completely underwhelmed, it was just like I had put the factory shower head back on. So now I'm back in the comfort of my oxygenics. Check it out if you have some time!

All the plumbing fixtures in our MH are gold-tone Moen household fixtures, they work great; even though they are 17 yrs old..

Welcome to the Escapee forums! Happy to have you with us.

We put an Oxygenics Body Spa shower head in ours and we love it. I find that particular shower head is rapidly becoming the most popular replacement items in the RV community. I know of only one RV manufacturer who installs them at the factory, probably because the cost more than the cheapies found in most of our rigs.

Actually, when I compared total flow per minute, my Moen shower head has a lower flow rate than oxygenics. Assuming line pressure and internal pipe diameter remains the same, the only way to increase perceived output pressure at the shower head is to use smaller openings or less openings in the shower head, or whatever you use at the outlet.

Before comparing total flow output,I once thought about trying an oxygenics head, but the company does not make them with a brass finish or gold-tone.

My shower head doesn't match my bath faucets, and neither match my sink faucets...water pressure was more important to me and I'd rather match everything else to the thing that gives me a good shower.

I just took the "low flow" regulator out of our current shower head and it greatly improved our shower experience!  I don't think there is much difference in water used when I can rinse soap quickly versus having to take all day to get rinsed  because of poor pressure.

The Oxygenics uses air to increase the pressure of the water so it is using the same amount of water as the lower pressure heads but with more output pressure...you get the best of both worlds...save water and have great pressure

If conserving water is the goal, a oxygenics shower head is not going to work well. I often travel in the desert areas where getting water is an issue.   Currently I am in a remote forest service campground that usually has water but it has been turned off for the season. My wife and I want to shower and wash hair with less than 1 gallon of water each. To do so we use a trickle of water not a high pressure spray.

My Oxygenics has a adjustable flow knob at the base of the shower head, where the hose connects.  Really cuts down on the amount of water coming out, but doesn't reduce the pressure.

X2.

And another option. http://www.rvnetwork.com/topic/120606-ecocamel-jetstorm-vs-oxygenics/

I still use my Oxygenetics on the outdoor shower, but I do prefer the jetstorm for my every day indoor.

That defies logic and the rules of hydraulics, unless you have a pressurized air source to mix with water flow.

While I agree about the rules of Hydraulics.  However the Oxygenics shower head gives a satisfying, fairly hard spray, even at water flows down to about 1 gallon/minute.

Perception defines individual reality regardless of universal dogma.

This is the issue I have.  I want to use a gallon or less for my entire shower. With the oxygenics shower head I could use most of that amount just adjusting the water temperature.

That would dictate about a 30 second shower . I think I can afford to splurge a bit more than that .

Goes around , comes around .

I usually take 5 minutes or so for a Navy type shower.   Using a lot of water can mean cutting short a trip and heading to an area that has water.  This has nothing to do with the cost of water.  If you always camp with hook ups, then there is no issue or reason to conserve.
