99 Onan Emerald plus 4000 no load to camper

Recommended Posts

On my last trip, while running AC on generator, it blew a bearing.   What a noise.   A local mechanic removed, fixed and replaced the generator.   It runs great when started from the generator itself.   But when I started it from inside the camper, it ran very rough and did not beep to let me know it was ready to turn on the AC.   No other electric items come on either.  He has not been able to find the problem yet.   Gasoline is good, Converter appears good.   Any ideas?

Welcome to the Escapee forums!

To me it sounds like something is wrong with the connections to the remote start controls. They are just a duplicate of what is physically on the generator set and are optional to have. If they took the generator set out of the RV to work on it, they also had to have disconnected those controls. I'd only be guessing about what it is doing but I'd first try disconnecting it and reconnecting it as it should be just a plug in connection. Make sure that both male and female plugs are clean and solid.
