Home on the Sea of Cortez for sale, Baja, Mexico

We have been retired for 20 years and we have spent the great majority of that time in the desert on the Sea of Cortez.  I was born and raised in California and the desert is my favorite natural habitat, and Carolann likes the desert too, but we agreed that it is time to make a change.  So, we are going to sell our beautiful home located just 120 miles south of the California border, in El Dorado Ranch, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico, and move to the Villages in central Florida.  Carolann was born and raised in Massachusetts and we have friends and relatives living in the Villages.  

Our Spanish style home was custom built for us by renowned San Felipe architect Salvador Nunez, and was completed in 2001.   It has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a den or a 3rd bedroom, and a kitchen, that is open to the dining room, family room, and living room.  The east facing living room window provides an awesome view of the Sea of Cortez.  The dining area has a three sided windowed atrium, with padded bench seats, that looks out over the landscaped back yard to the 10,300 ft. twin peaks of Del Diablo, that are capped with snow in the winter.  The house has central air conditioning and heating, plus the family room has a tiled fireplace with electric fire logs, that heats the living area on cool winter nights.  Walking out the double windowed doors to the rear of the home, you enter an 840 sq. ft. enclosed patio with a sink, counter top, and a 4 burner cook top, and a 2 ton mini split air conditioner and heating unit.  There are ceiling fans throughout the house and patio.  The patio is a great place to entertain and cook some fresh fish you caught on the Sea of Cortez, clams you dug up off the beach at low tide, or the famous San Felipe shrimp you bought from a vendor at the Saturday Swap meet.  There is also a 400 sq. ft. roof deck over the 2 car garage, that provides a 360 degree view of the sea, the desert, and the mountains.  On the deck in the crystal clear night air, lying on a lounge chair at two in the morning, you may be treated to a spectacular meteor shower, and you can almost reach up and touch the Milky Way.  A full hookup RV pad provides a spot for your RVing friends to come visit in style.

The home is in a gated community on a half acre lot in the premier subdivision of the El Dorado Ranch development.  Not only are the lots spacious, but there is 100 meters of green belt from your rear property line to the rear line of your neighbor. 

The many activities available on the Ranch include a great beach on the sea, three heated pools, two hot tubs, tennis courts, pickleball courts, 18 hole championship golf course, and two restaurants.  Fresh and saltwater fishing, clamming, hiking and exploring, and off roading, are just some of the activities afforded in the surrounding area.   There is shopping in the nearby town and many restaurants offering local Mexican, Chinese, and Italian cooking, and you can even get hamburgers and hotdogs.

The home is being offered by owner for $249K USD, fully furnished and move in ready, including a VW sand rail. The purchase is full ownership with an individual bank trust.
