Park reservations

Depends how n how popular your destination is. I booked a month in Lincoln city Oregon a year n advance, but that's because the solar eclipse will occur there during our stay. If you are booking at government parks (which usually have a 2 week stay limit) you need to book early to get a space too.

On the other hand we are looking to stay 1 month in the Tacoma WA area this June and most parks in that area aren't booking before March.

Monthlies can be a challenge in some areas. For instance, all the east side of the Houston metro area has filled with pipeline construction crews. Last summer we called one nice park and the lady said they were full to the point that they weren't even adding names to their waiting list.

In fact, being close to a big city like Houston can, in general, make finding a suitable campsite a challenge. Many campgrounds only set aside a certain number of sites for monthlies because they make more money from transient campers.

My suggestion is that you find 2 or 3 potential campgrounds and phone during the day and ask them how far out they think you'll need a reservation.

Hi, we will be heading out in July to get set up in Texas for FT. Just curious how far in advance do you typically have to make reservations for the monthly sites in campgrounds? Thanks!

Stay at Escapees in Livingston. The park should not be busy in the summer.

Are you going to become "Texans" by joining Escapees?
