10 yrs or so ago Stan told me that it was like putting lipstick on a pig.

My 2001 was a stable platform but underpowered with the DT530 pulling 22.5k Travel Supreme.

The truck as he said was old tech.

Wind noise....I threw a bunch of money at it to try to improve things.

Carpet, upholstered seats, insulated door panels.... Still noisy and underpowered.

Got rid of it.

Have the Volvo and never looked back.

I've just put on over 3500 miles in a week with this thing. Some bumps but not as bad as the old 4700

IH does not GET IT re Rv haulers. Freightliner does. But spendy.

Hope that helps

Mine has all the upgrades you mentioned but working on the under powered part now.

Does anyone have the BOSE seats? How do you like them ? Would it be like putting pearls on a pig by installing them in my International 4900? To sale or install is the big question?

I ordered the Bose seats when I ordered the truck. They are great seats and would order them again if spec'ing a new truck.

Went thru that too but if you have the same engine as I did, you cant' pull more out of it unless you change the pistons.  This as per Stan a dozen years ago.  Current ones will be aluminum, you need forged.  He also mentioned  floating the valves.  He did say some had installed a Propane injection system.

I also changed the shift points on the trans.
