A large number of those are "bots" that Captcha did not disallow. A lot also have links associated with their names, some not so savory. Please do not click on any name you don't recognize. David Dixon, our webmaster, is trying to remedy this situation. I have gone in by hand over the last year and have deleted nearly 10,000 of these bots but receive hundreds a day more.
