Chad Heiser Posted November 25, 2016 Report Posted November 25, 2016 My DW and I have been working on ordering a new DRV Mobile Suite 40KSSB4 through Rolling Retreats for the past couple of months. We took a trip out to Oklahoma to meet Alicia at Rolling Retreats in person to start the process. We have had lots of back and forth between us and the factory through Rolling Retreats to get our order set exactly how we wanted it. There are a couple of things the factory said no to, but we got most everything we wanted. We've got a list of about 30 "specials" (customizations) on top of the regular factory options we selected. This week we got word our trailer goes into production on December 7. We are super excited to get our new trailer into production. We have sold our current 5er to some friends and will be delivering it to them in a week or so. Once our current trailer goes, we will be without until we get the new one. I will be making a road trip out to Oklahoma from California once our trailer is ready. It's getting harder and harder to wait for the new one. 2009 Volvo 670 with dinette/workstation sleeper - Walter 2017 DRV Mobile Suite 40KSSB4 with factory mods, dealer mods and personal mods - now in the RV graveyard 2022 DRV Full House MX450 with customized floor plan 2018 Polaris RZR Turbo S (fits in the garage) 2016 Smart Car (fits in the garage or gets flat towed behind the DRV when the RZR is in the garage) My First Solar Install Thread My Second Solar Install Thread & Photos and Documents Related to the build My MX450's solar, battery and inverter system - my biggest system yet! chadheiser.com West Coast HDT Rally Website

CrazyCooter Posted November 25, 2016 Report Posted November 25, 2016 Way cool! Congrats to you and Jen. Now the wait will be the killer. I can't imagine being without an RV after having one for the past 23 years. It isn't going to be fun to not have a trailer for a little while, but I'm hoping to be able to go get the new one in late February or so, so it won't be too long of a period. At least this is the slow traveling time of the year. We would have liked to go to the Cal4wheel winter fun festival with you guys this year though. Maybe next year.

I'm sure you can find plenty to do in preparation for the new rig over the next few months. I remember acquiring parts for our new rig prior to delivery although our wait was only 6 weeks. BE here before you know it! We made our reservations for Winter Funfest a couple of weeks ago and all the large RV spaces were already spoken for, so next year we will start early. Hope we will have room to park as the person taking the reservations didn't know the lengths or widths of the sites. 1999 Peterbilt 385 C12 430/1650 13spd 2006 Dodge 3500 DRW 4x4 2010 Hitchhiker Champagne 36 LKRSB

Chad Heiser Posted November 25, 2016 Author Report Posted November 25, 2016 I'm sure you can find plenty to do in preparation for the new rig over the next few months. I remember acquiring parts for our new rig prior to delivery although our wait was only 6 weeks. BE here before you know it! Yeah, I've been acquiring parts for a while now. I've got lots of little things and some big things, including my batteries and solar controller. I bought the Magnum PT 100 and a few other parts for my solar set up. The only thing left for solar is the panels themselves. I will wait until I can get the exact roof layout in person before I buy panels so I can make sure everything fits. I'm having the full Magnum suite installed by the factory (less the solar controller). It will have the 3012 hybrid inverter/charger, BMK, AGS, etc. it is being customized to my specs and will have just one cheepo battery for delivery purposes. Slade and I will then install my 4 Fullriver 8D AGM batteries when I pick it up, along with a few other things. Yea!!! Congrats Chad. And I am SOOO jealous. The 40KSSB4 is the model I want. We think it is a great floor plan as well. We were originally looking at a 38 RSSA, then gravitated to the 40KSSB4 after seeing it in person. We like the fact the fridge and bathroom are accessible with the slides in. Makes it convenient for quick stops. We're adding a couple of windows in the kitchen/living room area and a floor to ceiling cabinet in the bedroom, along with some other mods to make it fit us even better. 2009 Volvo 670 with dinette/workstation sleeper - Walter 2017 DRV Mobile Suite 40KSSB4 with factory mods, dealer mods and personal mods - now in the RV graveyard 2022 DRV Full House MX450 with customized floor plan 2018 Polaris RZR Turbo S (fits in the garage) 2016 Smart Car (fits in the garage or gets flat towed behind the DRV when the RZR is in the garage) My First Solar Install Thread My Second Solar Install Thread & Photos and Documents Related to the build My MX450's solar, battery and inverter system - my biggest system yet! chadheiser.com West Coast HDT Rally Website

tyates007 Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Congratulations Chad. That is a great floor plan. It is very similar to ours but the big difference is you can access bathroom and fridge with glides in. You and Jen will love it I'm thinking. Hopefully we will see it at the WCR.
Chad Heiser Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 We will definitely have it at the WCR. We are looking forward to it again this year.
