mrschwarz
So...I have a long list of repairs that I need to have done. Of my 4 sliders, 2 leak, one has a damaged slider lock (a tech decided to look at the roof by crawling under the topper and bent it), another has a worn mechanism that needs looking after. After having one of the leaks repaired three times by three different techs, I figure some factory folks may give me a better chance of actually getting things fixed. In August, I made an appointment for repairs in Forest City. We're in Washington state and were planning to head south from there. Imagine my surprise when I learned that Winnebago has taken over a facility in Junction City, OR. While driving several days to and from Forest City is a pretty exciting trip, Junction City is only a few hours away from where we are and would allow us to actually keep our original plans. Here's my question. I have a list of items that need looking after and my primary goal is to get them fixed properly the first time. If that means traveling halfway across the country, so be it. If I can avoid the trip and still accomplish my primary goal, even better. I now have appointments in Forest AND Junction Cities. Can anyone give me any first-hand knowledge of the quality of repairs in Junction City? I know there are no guarantees in life, but do you think the likelihood of successful repairs is the same for both places? Michael 2017 Allegro Bus 45OPP Cummins ISL 450 Visit us at schwarz.org! 2gypsies
Is the Oregon facility a service center or a dealer? If a service center I'd go there since you're close. Clay L
Winnebago bought the Junction City Country Coach plant and is manufacturing "certain designated diesel models" there. I would call Winnebago customer service in Forest City to see if they can service your rig in Junction City. mrschwarz
Thanks for the response. I know that I can schedule repairs in Junction City. I have spoken with the scheduler and service manager and he says they can do anything that needs to be done. My question was more about any one that has had Winnebago repairs there and my likelihood for successful repairs, compared with traveling to Forest City. SWharton
Why don't you try the Winnebago Thread on IRV2? Better chance of a response.
Tee Jay
The choices in Junction City are the old Country Coach plant where Winnebago now owns and does maintenance and is said to be building new coaches, OMC near the Eugene Airport which services anything, Premier RV Services adjacent to the Winny plant on 1st Street which sells and services coaches, plus others in the area. Try it. They had about 8 coaches awaiting service in the back lot last week.
mrschwarz
Thanks everyone for your responses. After reading posts on other sites, as well as here, we decided to keep our appointment in Junction City and cancel the one in Forest City.
